The thicker caliper provides wet out capability for surfaces where adhesion may be compromised by slight textures or irregularities. 3M Glass Cloth Tape 361 has a pressure sensitive silicone adhesive and a woven fiberglass backing that makes it suitable for high-temperature resistance, high adhesion and clean removal applications.This tape is used in a variety of aerospace, automotive, military, roofing, specialty vehicle and ship building industries for seaming and sealing panels, high temperature masking, bundling, holding and harness wrapping.
It can be used for high temperature applications such as sealing ducts and as a back-up strip for submerged arc welding. It can withstand temperatures ranging from 65°F/ 54°C to 450°F/232°C, and intermittent temperatures up to 550°F/288°C or higher, depending on the type and duration of the heat source.
