When selecting building wires, understanding the standards behind them is just as important as understanding their specifications.
Two key Indian standards play a critical role in ensuring electrical safety and performance:

IS 694 – Covers PVC insulated cables up to 1100V, defining requirements for conductor quality, insulation performance, and overall reliability.

IS 17048 – Applies to Halogen Free Flame Retardant (HFFR) insulated cables, designed to minimize smoke generation and reduce the release of harmful gases during fire incidents.
These standards help builders, consultants, contractors, and end users make informed decisions while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and long-term performance.
