Medasense Biometrics LTD

Medasense Biometrics LTD Medasense is transforming the way PAIN is being assessed and treated worldwide. It enables connectivity with Philips and Mindray patient monitors.

Through our breakthrough NOL® AI technology and sensing platform, we quantify pain response to optimize care and avoid overmedication. Medasense’s flagship product, PMD-200™, is used in critical care settings, where patients are unable to communicate, to visualize pain response and personalize treatment. Clinical studies have demonstrated its impact on patient safety and outcomes – including opioi

d sparing and lower pain scores reported by patients. PMD-200™ is distributed in Europe by Medtronic, and is also commercially available in Canada, Latin America, Israel, Australia and the United Arab Emirates. Along our path to improve pain care in additional settings, we are harnessing our AI capabilities with NOLedge™, an agile investigational device to lead prediction, stratification and prevention strategies that will enable better pain management and reduce healthcare expenditures.

We’re closely supporting clinicians as they integrate NOL monitoring into their anesthesia workflows, including in Mexico, where Dr. Javier Alvarado Perez is taking a clear step toward personalized pain management in the OR.

Working with several hospitals, he recently integrated NOL monitoring into his clinical practice, driven by a strong belief in the importance of measuring and actively managing intraoperative nociception.

He’s using NOL during TIVA cases, allowing him to continuously assess the patient’s nociceptive response and tailor opioid dosing aimed at smoother recovery.

As more clinicians move beyond indirect signs like heart rate and blood pressure toward physiology-based insight, these real-world integrations show how nociception monitoring fits naturally into routine care while supporting better-informed clinical decisions.

Great to see this momentum building across LATAM!

More to come.

Medasense is proud to announce a clinical collaboration with Jefferson Health, a leading U.S. academic medical center, through the Israel-U.S. HealthTech Pilot Program, a joint initiative of the Israel Innovation Authority and Thomas Jefferson University.

The two parties will conduct a clinical study to examine the clinical and economic benefits of implementing Medasense’s Nociception Level Index (NOL) technology during spine surgery procedures.

Spine surgery is a high-volume area where optimizing analgesia and pain management remains a real challenge. So with ~3,000 spine procedures performed annually at Jefferson’s academic medical center, the study will generate real-world clinical and economic evidence on how objective nociception monitoring can support more personalized, data-driven care.

Another step forward as Medasense continues building its U.S. evidence base and pushing toward a new standard for how pain is monitored and managed in operating rooms and critical care settings.

🌎 AI-powered NOL nociception monitoring - making its way across LATAM.
Last week at the TIVA Veracruz Course-Workshop our NOL session focused on the benefits of NOL-Nociception Level Index® monitoring for personalized analgesia with TIVA.
Always more engaging with our immersive VR experience bringing clinical learning to life!

We also joined forces with TIVA Mexico for a live OR session with NOL, streamed in real time to the participants in Veracruz. That collaboration led to some great insights and lively discussion between the clinicians.

Many thanks to de Anestesiologos del Estado de Veracruz, A.C., for hosting the sessions, to Dr. Arnulfo Calixto Flores for sharing his experience using NOL, and to our LATAM Manager Roberto Antonio Soto doing the legwork to reach and support anesthesiologists across the region with NOL.
👉🏽 Let us know if you’d like to learn more about NOL monitoring for your anesthesia practice.

Its great to be at the CRASH Annual Conference in Colorado this week!

Jessica and Holly are representing Medasense at our booth, connecting with anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists who are passionate about advancing patient care.

One of the standout presentations focused on opioid variation in anesthesia practice and the variability in intraoperative pain treatment across providers and institutions. Even within similar procedures, opioid dosing strategies can differ widely, raising important questions about consistency, personalization, and outcomes.

If you’re at CRASH, come and say hello!

We are thrilled to see the clinical impact of NOL monitoring highlighted in the latest article by Dr. Leonor Veiga Gil (University Hospital of Navarra).

In her paper ‘Intraoperative Nociception Monitoring’, she highlights why monitoring nociception is essential for modern anesthesia and how routine implementation of NOL monitoring leads to better patient outcomes in her practice:

🔸 Reduced Pain Intensity: Studies show that guiding opioid administration with NOL significantly reduces postoperative pain intensity (Meijer at al, van der Wal et al).
🔸 Fewer Complications: Controlling the intraoperative stress response with autonomic based nociception monitoring helps prevent postoperative complications.
🔸 Preventing Chronic Pain: Optimal intraoperative care may prevent peripheral or central nervous system sensitization, reducing the risk of persistent or chronic pain.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒊𝒏 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏:
Just as we rely on EEG for depth-of-anesthesia and hemodynamic monitors for stability, NOL provides the critical data needed to personalize analgesia. By moving beyond heart rate and blood pressure, which are not sufficiently sensitive, clinicians can ensure every patient receives the exact dose they need.
