Today we downed tools, to stand in protest against the rising fuel costs and the lack of action from the Irish Goverment to address this issue. Our small operation has incurred an additional cost of over €4000.00+ per week for green for production and white on delivery, this is simply not viable for us and our customers. Being in rural Ireland, fuel is essential for not just us but for farmers , carers , commuters and everyone else in between. Until this government takes action , this trend will only continue, this is not an oil crisis, this is not a housing crisis, everything in this country is an affordability crisis! Until these unnecessary taxes on fuel and everything else stop things will not improve.
We’d like to thank the public for their support and the approximately 250 plus vehicles in the protest in Longford today.
Keep protesting, keep peaceful and God Bless ye all.’
