It has recently come to our attention on two separate occasions that homeowners have been left out of pocket after hiring individuals to carry out work on their properties. In both cases, substantial deposits or payments were taken, work was either delayed indefinitely or never completed, and the contractors became difficult to contact.
Where Kylecon comes into this is that these individuals told their customers that materials had been ordered from us. As weeks passed with no sign of the work being completed, concerned homeowners contacted us asking when their products would be delivered — only for us to discover that no order had ever been placed.
We would like to remind everyone to be extremely careful when hiring tradespeople and handing over money. If a contractor tells you that materials have been ordered through Kylecon, please don't hesitate to contact us directly to confirm that an order is in place before making any payments.
Unfortunately, posts like this may not reach everyone who could benefit from the warning. If you have elderly relatives, neighbours, or loved ones who may be planning home improvement work and aren't on social media, please take a moment to share this advice with them.
