200% production capacity increase. 84+ product variations.

Our customer's manual knee implant blasting process was creating two problems at once:

1. Capacity constraints holding back growth.
2. Ergonomic injuries.

Our automated solution paired an six-axis robot with a customised loading system, specialised end-of-arm tooling and a bespoke filtration system.

This system increased production capacity while reducing operator involvement in physically demanding tasks. Real-time monitoring provided greater confidence in process control and traceability.

🤖 R&D: a range of robotic proofs of concept tackling pick & place and positioning challenges.

🔬 R&D: vision trials on complex transparent components where extreme accuracy is non-negotiable.

Production and R&D don’t work in isolation here. What gets proven on the R&D floor today shapes what gets built on the production floor tomorrow.

Proofing concepts before a build means our customers can move forward with confidence in the solution, and it means fewer surprises once the build is underway.

It’s an hour at your facility, in a dedicated meeting room, with a couple of our engineers. We bring the content, you bring the curiosity.

No visit to the manufacturing floor required, no death by PowerPoint 😁. Just a relaxed conversation about automation challenges in MedTech and Pharma manufacturing, backed up by real project examples and plenty of visuals.

We’ve found the sessions work best with a broad engineering audience. Automation, project, quality, EHS - there’s usually something that lands for everyone in the room.

Huge thanks to the students who joined us for Manufacturing Day Ireland!

Last week we welcomed 20 students from the LCW (Life, Community & Work) class at Coláiste na Trócaire, Rathkeale for a behind-the-scenes look at life on our floor, from meeting our team to seeing our machines in production up close.

The highlight for us was the Q&A session. We were very impressed by their questions, especially around AI and how it will shape the future of automation, one of the hottest topics in our industry right now. It just goes to show, the next generation is already thinking ahead.

They were also delighted with their Manufacturing Day Ireland t-shirts, and we have to admit, we loved that they matched our brand colours perfectly! 🧡

How do you teach a robot to place a tiny rubber ring into a clear plastic tray, hundreds of times over, without a single one going in wrong? 🤖

That was the challenge in our latest case study. The trays were see-through and the little wells sat really close together, so the camera system struggled to find them reliably.

The clever fix? Instead of looking at the wells themselves, our engineers realised the tiny gaps between them showed up slightly darker under the right lighting.

That small detail gave the system something solid to lock onto, and everything clicked into place from there. The result was 2.5 times faster than before, with 99.7% accuracy. 👏

Ever wonder how thousands of tiny medical parts get checked for faults without slowing the production line down? 🔍

Our latest case study shows how our team built a system that inspects, validates and labels a part every 1.5 seconds, faster than the human eye could ever keep up with.

The clever bit?💡 Instead of lots of separate cameras all doing their own thing, we ran everything through one central "brain." That meant every check was consistent, every part was traceable and the system could even spot patterns to help improve the process even further.

☀️🌙 Our Sports & Social crew took on Knockfeirna Hill yesterday to catch the solar eclipse.

We set off under glorious blue skies and were treated to some brilliantly clear views of the early stages of the eclipse on the way up. Then, right as we reached the summit, the cloud rolled in with impeccable timing! 😅

Still, we managed to steal a few glimpses between the clouds, much like everyone else across Ireland, and the views over West Limerick made the climb worthwhile.

Word on the street is that Sports & Social are raising the bar for next year's solar expedition... rumour has it we're off to Spain for clearer skies! 😉

Overall, it was a lovely evening in great company.

Green fever has hit Rathkeale! 🟢⚪

Ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland Hurling Championship, the DesignPro team downed tools, pulled on the jerseys and went green for the day, because this one is personal.

Our Production Manager John is part of the Limerick management team, so when we say we're behind the boys in green, we really mean it. 💚

The whole crew turned out for this one. Massive thanks to everyone who got involved.

Best of luck to John, the management, the players and everyone travelling up on Sunday. We'll be roaring you on. 📣
