Last week, the Solutions EV team were back at Dublin Airport putting the finishing touches to Ireland’s first pantograph bus-charging project.

Solutions EV provided:

✅ 4 × 450kW pantograph bus chargers
✅ On-site project management
✅ On-site commissioning
✅ Pre-maintenance checks

But our involvement doesn't end with commissioning.

We now move into the next phase, a 7-year maintenance and support programme, helping keep this critical charging infrastructure performing for the long term.

Meet the Team | Jay Byrne

Jay leads the Solutions Controls division, bringing over a decade of experience in technical sales, electrical systems and smart building technologies.

Since joining Solutions in 2017, he has played a key role in growing the division, helping consultants and contractors deliver intelligent lighting control solutions that improve energy efficiency, occupant comfort and building performance.

Away from work, Jay is a former professional boxer, BUI Celtic Champion and multiple BBBofC Celtic Champion, known as “The Negotiator”. Today, he remains involved in the sport as a boxing promoter.

Project Spotlight | Celtic Interconnector ⚡

Ireland’s first direct electricity connection to continental Europe.

Spanning 575km, including approximately 500km of subsea cable, the Celtic Interconnector will enable up to 700MW of electricity to be transferred between Ireland and France - enough to power around 450,000 homes.

Sean is a Project Sales Executive in our Power & Steel division, bringing over 9 years of sales, customer service and technical support experience to Solutions.

Working with consultants, contractors and end users, Sean helps customers deliver smarter electrical infrastructure solutions, from cable containment, prefabricated modular wiring to underfloor-to-desktop power distribution and so much more.

What Sean enjoys most is building strong customer relationships and helping clients find practical, dependable solutions that keep projects moving.

Away from work, Sean proudly represents Ireland in Irish American Football and is preparing for the 2027 European Championships, with the ambition of helping Ireland qualify for the sport's Olympic debut at the 2028 Games.
