Metal roofing is fast becoming a favourite with Irish homeowners. It’s easy to see why.

We supply two types of metal roofing systems, each with its own style and finish:

Cordion corrugated has a traditional profile, designed specifically for Irish homes and Irish weather. It suits rural, coastal or urban settings and with modern installation and insulation methods, rain noise isn’t an issue.

Scandion standing seam gives you a flat, elegant, contemporary finish. The panels simply click together without any special tools.

Both come in a range of classic and modern colours, with:
✔️ A 40-year corrosion warranty
✔️ A 20-year colour warranty
✔️ Steel and aluminium options for inland and coastal homes

Choosing a metal roof involves more than picking a colour. Profile, pitch, location and insulation all matter, and our roofing and technical teams have over 30 years’ experience to help you get it right.

Irish weather is tough on a roof. Natural slate is tougher.

Wind, rain, salt air... your roof takes the brunt of it all year round. That's why so many homeowners choose natural slate:

✔️ It never fades, so your roof looks as good in 50 years as it does today
✔️ It stands up to the harshest Irish weather
✔️ It's expected to outlive the building itself

At SIG, we stock two of the best:

CUPA RH50 comes from Spain, from one of the world's leading slate producers. It's a larger format with a tighter grain and a deeper colour. Backed with a 100 year guarantee.

Brazilian Nova is an excellent and cost-effective choice for new and re-roofing projects, known for its flat surface and subtle natural shades that add a unique character. This Slate requires minimal grading.

Choosing the right slate is a big decision, but you don't have to make it alone. Our roofing and technical teams have more than 30 years' experience and they'll help you find the right fit for your home, your budget and your local conditions.

We are delighted to announce that SIG has come 39th in the 2026 list of Ireland’s 200 Best Employers as compiled by the Sunday Independent and Statista R. This is a rise of 129 places from last year when we first appeared in the list and we were the second highest ranked company in the Construction and related services sector after Cairn Homes.

Commenting on the achievement, Kevin Windle, Managing Director of SIG in Ireland said: “This is a fantastic achievement for us as a company and reflects the great people that we have working in our 4 different businesses across the island of Ireland. We try to foster a culture in which people enjoy coming to work and feel valued for the contribution that they make. Our inclusion in this esteemed list shows that we are delivering on this objective.”

Huge thanks to all our teams across SIG for getting involved in Safety Week 👏

From the ideas shared on safety boards to the engagement across every branch, it’s clear that safety is embedded in everything we do. Our branch-wide employee competition brought forward some brilliant ideas — many of which we’re excited to roll out nationwide. It was also great to see strong involvement from our SLT, visiting branches and engaging directly with teams on their safety ideas.

We were delighted to welcome Michael Stegeman and Kevin Moore from , who visited the Dublin, Omagh and Belfast branches. They highlighted the high standards, strong compliance, and positive safety culture across our business — and recognised SIG Ireland as an OPCO with the lowest LTIFR, seeing first-hand the work behind this achievement.

It was also great to introduce our new SIG-branded safety jackets for all branch members and drivers. Alongside this, SIG-branded coffee cups were delivered to every branch — giving employees and customers the chance to share a coffee together and lift spirits during the week.

A huge well done to our Safety team — Niall Kennedy and Maria McErlean — for delivering such a successful week.

Vermont Purple Slate: A Certified Match for Welsh Blue Bangor
Specifying for a protected structure? Vermont Purple Slate is now available in Ireland through SIG Roofing — and it's a certified match for Welsh Blue Bangor.

For years, the Penrhyn 'Heather Blue' slate has been the benchmark for Irish heritage roofing. St Patrick's Cathedral. National schools. Railway stations. Georgian townhouses. That unfading deep plum — it matters.

Vermont Purple delivers the same colour, the same surface texture, the same technical classifications to BS EN 12326. Up to 75-year warranty. Over a century predicted service life.

Conservation officers. Architects. Contractors working on protected structures. This is one worth knowing about.
