Cleaning with No Consumable Part!

The EXAIR Super Air Knife has been installed in the mining industry and has proven successful for conveyor cleaning applications.

The EXAIR Super Air Knife is used to remove dust and dirt from conveyors during mining operations. The conveyor belt had become heavily contaminated with dirt and debris that could not be effectively removed using conventional methods. Therefore, we recommended the use of the EXAIR Super Air Knife as an alternative and permanent solution.

In industrial applications, air knives provide an efficient method for cleaning, drying, or cooling parts, webs, and conveyors, while also functioning as an environmental separator or air curtain. The EXAIR Super Air Knife is recognized as one of the most efficient compressed air knives available on the market. It delivers a uniform sheet of laminar airflow across the entire length with a powerful blowing force.

The unit is engineered to significantly reduce compressed air consumption while entraining ambient air at a ratio of 40:1. In addition, noise levels are substantially lower compared to conventional blow-off systems.

Another day, another issue with static.

The attached video is a short demo showing our EXAIR Intellistat Ion Air Gun, the lightweight of our static elimination products range

Long story short, one of our clients, a syringe manufacturer supplying hospitals told us they were facing static-related issues. The problem was especially noticeable in their quality control process, where dust, particles, and fibers were sticking to the syringes before packaging.

We’ve come across this issue quite often with our clients, so we know exactly how to handle it. We recommended using an EXAIR Static Eliminator and as shown in the video, the level of static present was quite high.

After using the EXAIR static eliminator, you can clearly see that the static charge is significantly reduced. Upon inspection, the syringes are much cleaner and have far less contamination compared to when no anti-static product is used.

Today, I would like to share a brief story about one of our customers who uses EXAIR products and “modifies” them to better suit real-world conditions in the field.

In short, this customer operates in the packaging industry and encountered issues with the trim waste generated from their production process. They required a solution that is practical, efficient, and effective. As EXAIR offers more than 10,000 different products, it is our responsibility as application engineers to provide solutions that align with the actual needs on site.

Initially, we proposed the use of a Line Vac to meet their vacuum requirements however due to the limited compressed air supply available at their facility and considering that the Line Vac requires a relatively high air consumption, we instead recommended the use of the EXAIR Vac-U-Gun unit, which comes equipped with a filter bag.

This approach proved to be highly suitable, as the customer’s requirement was simply to vacuum trim waste from their production. Additionally, the EXAIR Vac-U-Gun consumes less compressed air, allowing the remaining air supply to be utilized for other EXAIR products.

The patented Chip Trapper offers a fast, easy way to clean chips, swarf and shavings out of used coolants and other liquids. The Chip Trapper vacuums the coolant or liquid that is filled with debris and traps all the solids in a reusable filter bag. Only the liquid pumps back out. It is ideal for use on machines with sumps, parts washers, tanks and storage containers of contaminated liquids.

The Chip Trapper use EXAIR's compressed air powered Reversible Drum Vac pump (included) that can fill or empty a 55 gallon drum in less than two minutes. SImply set the Reversible Drum Vac pump and directional flow control valve n top of the drum to "fill" for it to quickly vacuum the liquid with solids. Once the sump, pit or tank is empty, set the pump and directional vale to "empty" for it to pump out clean coolant/liquid. All the chips and other solids are trapped inside the reusable filter bag of the Chip Trapper.
