為配合2009年東亞運動會小輪車比賽,香港特別行政區政府撥出葵青區修復後醉酒灣堆填區地段,經康樂及文化事務署等政府部門協助下,獲香港賽馬會慈善信託基金冠名贊助,撥款興建香港賽馬會國際小輪車場(“小輪車場”) 。小輪車場於2009年10月31日正式落成啟用,由中國香港單車總會管理,以收費形式開放給公眾使用。
小輪車場佔地39,200平方米,是香港首座小輪車訓練及比賽場地。中國香港單車總會適時提供訓練班,讓所有人仕有機會以齊全裝備,以及專業教練的指導下,參與小輪車運動。
The Hong Kong Jockey Club International BMX Park (“BMX Park”) is situated on the lower platform of the restored Gin Drinkers Bay Landfill in Kwai Tsing District.
With the generous support from The Government of the HKSAR, the LCSD and other Government departments, the BMX Park was built, with the funding from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, to be the venue for the BMX event of the East Asian Games 2009. It is managed by the Cycling Association of Hong Kong, China Limited (“the Association”) and is opened for the public. The International BMX Racing Track in the BMX Park is the first venue for BMX racing in Hong Kong. The BMX courses organized by the CAHK provide the public with the opportunity to enjoy BMX racing under the guidance of qualified coaches and adequate equipment.
