We are excited to share that Meinhardt projects have been honored with multiple prestigious awards at the HKIE Design for Safety Excellence Award 2026. These awards are a testament to our unwavering commitment to engineering safety and our drive to push the boundaries of innovation in the construction industry.

A huge thank you to our dedicated team and partners for their hard work and unwavering focus on safety. Here is a look at our award-winning projects:

Mega Project – Trunk Road T2 and Cha Kwo Ling Tunnel – Merit
Tackling 3.4km of complex geology and deep shafts, this vital link in Route 6 utilized AI-driven defect inspection and automated BIM workflows. These innovations not only slashed travel times from 65 to 12 minutes but also revolutionized productivity and safety through advanced prefabrication analysis.

Major Project – The East Coast Boardwalk – Bronze
Connecting Fortress Hill to Quarry Bay, this 2.2km harbourfront link overcame extreme spatial and height constraints. By implementing prefabricated boardwalk decks, we minimized on-site risks, reduced costs, and accelerated the construction timeline for the public to enjoy.

Major Project – Tuen Mun South Extension: New Tuen Mun Swimming Pool – Merit
By leveraging BIM, MiC, and MiMEP, we successfully shifted high-risk site activities into controlled factory environments, ensuring maximum safety and precision.

Innovative Idea – Kwu Tung Station – Bronze
Working as part of Dragages’ construction team, we provided specialized DfMA solutions to enable efficient off-site fabrication. This innovative approach ensures high-quality assembly and faster timelines while strictly upholding safety and sustainability standards.

We’re honored to be invited to attend the Opening Ceremony for the Tai O Twin Bridges (Yim Tin Bridge and the Po Chue Tam Bridge, linking the riverbanks of Tai O). As the engineering consultant responsible for the design and supervision of the Phase 2 Stage 2 improvement works at Tai O project, we’re thrilled to share that the bridges are officially open to the public starting from 4 May 2026.

The Yim Tin Bridge makes history as Hong Kong’s first retractable bridge—a nod to the traditional hand-pulled ferries—while the Po Chue Tam Bridge features a rotational design that harmonizes perfectly with the historic Yeung Hau Temple. These bridges serve as a new landmark for the community, injecting vitality into the area while demonstrating how we can integrate progress with conservation. This project marks a new chapter for Tai O, proving that modern infrastructure can thrive alongside deep-rooted traditions. We are proud to help bridge the gap between Tai O's storied past and its vibrant future.

From the Excelsior Hotel to the stunning new One Causeway Bay, Meinhardt is proud to showcase our structural artistry behind this 32-storey landmark. To deliver those iconic, unobstructed views of Victoria Harbour, our project team designed massive 16-meter-long spans and unique inclined columns, eliminating bulky internal supports to create vast, open-plan interiors. By utilizing advanced wind tunnel testing, we further optimized the tower’s shape to reduce wind loads by 30%, ensuring the highest standards of structural integrity and occupant comfort.

Sustainability and community mindfulness were at the heart of our strategy, headlined by the award-winning “Core-bide” innovation. This structural breakthrough allowed us to install 191 piles through existing reinforced concrete using diamond-hard drill bits, replacing noisy traditional hammering with a silent, vibration-free process. This precision engineering not only minimized noise for adjacent heritage sites but also achieved a massive environmental win—cutting 2,130 tons of carbon dioxide and proving that thoughtful structural solutions can be both high-performance and sustainable.

Beyond the landmark tower itself, our team extended this vision to the surrounding community by revitalizing the 50-year-old Chee On Bridge. From the iconic steel crown that defines the skyline to the advanced foundations below, One Causeway Bay stands as a premier example of Meinhardt’s dedication to delivering thoughtful, enduring and sustainable engineering excellence.
