TURBO GENERAL (General turbos machinery and Spares) resides in the ship repairing area of Piraeus harbor in Greece. Since 1975, TURBO GENERAL specializes mainly on Turbocharger spares and repairs for marine, industrial and automotive applications in main engine and auxiliary engines. TURBO GENERAL, in 70’s-80‘s was engaged in the S&P of vessels for scrap and held the representation of British prec

ision bearings RHP, until their merge with SNR France. In mid 2000, we have established our worldwide network for turbochargers spare parts supplies, with emphasis in the port of Shanghai, Istanbul and Dubai. We also represent EUROPAFILTER, a leading Swedish company on oil filtration systems. Finally, our technical department, can undertake turbocharger and machinery insurance claims handling.

Major overhauling on main engine tc MET53SD by our Greek flying service team in Varna.

The following works were carried out:
• Dismantling of complete turbocharger.
• Cleaning and inspection of main casings on board.
• Delivery or rotor complete and nozzle ring for blasting, inspection at workshop.
• Alignment and dynamical balancing of complete rotor shaft at workshop.
• Replacement of all inner consumable’s parts with new genuine from overhauling kit C+C2 (Turbo General supply).
• Reassembly of complete turbocharger and measurements taken.
• Trials performed on board.

Urgently overhauling/repair on main engine turbocharger MAN TCA55 by our Greek flying team in Indian Ocean.

- After continue blackouts of aux engines the vessel faced significant issue in the main engine turbocharger due to lack of lubrication.
- Our sales/technical departments arrange immediately the supply of new spare parts on board together with the present of our service team.
- Dismantling of complete turbocharger and replaced the complete rotor shaft (dynamically balanced), nozzle ring, shroud ring, full major overhauling kit.
- Box up the complete turbocharger and measurements taken according working instructions.

• Cleaning and inspection of all parts.
• Complete rotor shaft hydro/blasting and dye check at workshop.
• Alignment and Dynamical balancing check of complete rotor at workshop.
• Blasting, dye check of nozzle ring at workshop.
• Replacement of consumable spares.
• Return of complete rotor and nozzle ring on board for final installation with measurements.
• Trials on board.

Η Turbo General, συμμετείχε ως Silver Sponsor στο 18ο Χρηματιστηριακό & Ναυτιλιακό Συνέδριο, που φιλοξενήθηκε την Πέμπτη 08/01/2026 στο Πολεμικό Μουσείο, στο πλαίσιο μιας ιδιαίτερα ουσιαστικής διοργάνωσης από τη Maritime Economies και το Ινστιτούτο Ναυτιλιακής & Οικονομικής Στρατηγικής.

Ως μέλος της WIMA Association, η Turbo General στηρίζει ενεργά τέτοιες διοργανώσεις, αναγνωρίζοντας τη σημασία του ουσιαστικού διαλόγου και της συνεργασίας για τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη του ναυτιλιακού κλάδου.

• Dismantling of complete cartridge and extraction of complete rotor shaft and inner rotating parts.
• Replacement of inner rotating parts according running hours maintenance schedule by maker.
• Cleaning and dye check of complete rotor shaft and nozzle ring.
• Deflection and dynamical balancing of complete rotor shaft.
• Box up of complete cartridge and delivery on board.
• Reassembly of complete turbocharger and measurements taken on board.
