This debate between plastic and metal conduit boxes never stops among us electricians. Both have good and bad points, so we must understand our needs before choosing one. Here’s what you should know:

*Advantages of Metal Boxes*

1. *Durable and Strong*: Resistant to impact, crushing, and extreme temperatures.
2. *Fire-Resistant*: Protects against flames and sparks, reducing fire risk.
3. *EMI/RFI Shielding*: Blocks electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.
4. *Secure*: Difficult to break into, protecting the cables or other sensitive devices.

**Disadvantages of Electrical Metal Conduit Box:**
1. Not ideal for waterlogged areas
2. It is heavier and harder to install.
3. Its sharp and can cause injury.

**Advantages of Plastic Conduit Box:**

1. Insulation:
Plastic is non-conductive material, which provides an extra layer of safety by preventing electrical shocks and short circuits.
2. It is lightweight and simple to install.
3. It does not rust, making it good for wet areas.

**Disadvantages of Plastic Conduit Box:**

1. It is not as strong and can break easily.

SCAM ALERT: ARTISANS BEWARE This number 0551 75 0247 called me yesterday for a wiring contract at Atasomanso. He said he just came from “inside” and wanted to finish his building project “fast fast”. He sent a location, and I drove there with my team. Before we arrived he called that he might not be around as he want to buy some tiles from Ahenema-Kokoben, so we should wait. When we reached there, I called him again, and he said he was still at Kokoben but need urgent assistance! He had bought ¢35,000 worth of tiles (rich taste,🤣🤣) but he ran out of cedis with just a balance of ¢100 left to pay.

He needed me—(the electrician he’s never met—to “kindly”) to send him ¢100 via Momo so he could “come quickly to show us the contract”

🙄🙄🙄

I just texted him “WMT” and left!
