Lancor + Project LaNCoR + is Landscapes Initiative for Neighborhood and Community Revival Project plus intended to The project‘s location is Apiadu, a town nearKumsi (KNUST).

LaNCoR, is an acronym for Landscapes and Initiatives for Neighborhood and Community Revival + (plus).This project is an initiative of CLEAN AFRICA, an international NGO and partnered by SPAYSIS, Rethink and the Kumasi Archdioceses. The project intends to creatively use a vast land in the town for a multipurpose rendezvous, i.e. a playground for kids, recreational ground for the entire family, voca

tional institute for developing the talents and skills of the youth and a counseling centre for parents. All intended to spur up self - help attitude and initiative, family and community cohesion (unity) and employment for the youth. These are all geared towards a future of a sustainable developed environment.

Profile of Christian Horn
Director of Rethink – an urban and architecture design consultancy in Paris – e.g. studying spatial planning of the Paris Metropolis and of a transborder area between Swiss and France or designing an energy efficient office building in Obernau (FR). Prize winner of the French young urban planners award 2007/08. Teacher at the School of architecture in Strasbourg (FR) and regular publisher of texts and articles in various international architecture and urban planning media. Since 2005 Christian became an active member of the association Les Ateliers (Workshops of planning and urban design). He is involved as an expert in different competition jury and seminars in France and abroad and a member of ISOCARP. Registered at the Chamber of French Architects and at the Chamber of German Architects.

Dipl.-Ing. Angelika Plümmer is an Architect and lecturer at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt, Germany.Sustainability (Energizing architecture) and Accessibility (Barrier-free systems) are her main fields of experience and investigation. At her architectural office and with her students she develops new structural and inclusive systems to respond to the demographic, socio-political and economic changes in Europe and the new challenges arising from this for the built environment.Exploring energy-conscious and universal solutions for the cohesion between Humans, Energy and the Environment in a local and global context, she maximizes the interdisciplinary potential of the following professional groups: Computer Science and Engineering, Product Design, Health and Social Work.She is registered at the Chamber of German Architects and is a member of the DWB Hessen e.V. She facilitated the University cooperation between KNUST, Ghana and FRA-UAS, Germany.

“Tom Gill is the Co-Founder of the charity East African Playgrounds (EAP). Tom started the charity in 2009, with the Aim to improve children’s access to safe, fun and creative playgrounds across Uganda. Along with Co-founder and partner Carla Powell, Tom has developed the work EAP does and now runs two playground building workshops in Uganda with over 30 playground building staff. The have successfully design over 130 playground elements and built 68 playgrounds in Uganda.”
