Police caution drivers against car-snatching criminals.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has cautioned the public, particularly commercial drivers on new methods of car snatching by criminals.

This caution was as a result of the increase reports of car-snatching from unsuspecting drivers by criminal gangs in the country.

A statement issued by the service and signed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ms Juliana Obeng of the Public Affairs Unit of the CID said “Statistics at the CID suggests an increase in the reportage of the above mentioned crime. The fraudsters will hire a taxi driver to a distant and lonely place and in the process execute their intended purpose”.

A car snatching suspect has been shot dead by Police in the Eastern Region.The deceased was part of a three member gang who, in rambo style in broad daylight, on Monday August 19,2019 around 7:30am snatched a Toyota Yaris taxi cab with registration number ER 1305-19 from a driver at Koforidua-Oyoko.

2. The driver out of ignorance consumes whatever is given him and becomes drowsy.

3. In his state of drowsiness, the fraudster pushes the hired driver out of the car and bolts away with it.
