All Gears Manual Transmission and Differential Specialists. We undertake the remanufacture and repair of manual transmissions and differentials.

We are BMW and Jaguar specialists. We can and will, however, work on units from all makes of vehicle. All Gears started in 2002 and has developed considerably since then. Well - one of our ‘long term residents’ in the shape of a Vauxhall Calibra 6 speed F28 gearbox is finally completed.
This one was already converted to 2WD - we’ve completed a full rebuild of it including aqua blasted cases & plated fasteners as per customer instructions.
The customer also supplied a brand new Quaife 2WD ATB diff that we installed to top off a beautiful & satisfying job.

It’s very rare that we’re stumped here at All Gears, but right now we’re as stumped as a stumped thing on a stumped day….

We’re trying to complete a certain Porsche 944 turbo gearbox for a very patient customer & we are desperately trying to find one of these spring retaining clips. These have been discontinued through the dealer network since 2022.
The part number is: 016 311 861 C

If one of you fine people out there could please help us locate one of these we would appreciate it hugely.

Variety is the spice of life.

It certainly is true of late here at All Gears.

This is a Renault 5 GT Turbo gearbox that I’ve just had the pleasure of completing - the customer wanted not only to have us recondition the gearbox but wanted it to look beautiful as well to compliment their car. I reckon we’ve achieved exactly that.

So there’s an old saying: “you can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear”

Well I beg to differ, this Jaguar E-Type gearbox was in terrible condition when I opened it up, but with a lot of elbow grease and some new parts it’s ready to go back into our customers car & provide many years of joy.

So the result of a lot of time in the lathe today is this aluminium alignment disc.

A customer has brought us a Getrag 265 fitted in a Cobra kit car onto a small block Chevy engine with a cracked front case. The reason for the crack is that there was nothing actually aligning the gearbox with the engine. So I’ve spent most of the day measuring and making a suitable disc to do the job ensuring, when the gearbox goes back in the
car it performs perfectly. Thus allowing the customer to enjoy their V8 beauty.
