This installation includes a robust 2.8T jacking beam, built to meet DVSA requirements which will be mandatory from 1st April 2026.

The new StraightsetQR Customer Service Portal is a bespoke developed platform for our service customers to manage their workshop equipment all in one place.

Today lets dive into the Equipment Daily Checks section of the portal

Daily Equipment Checks is a practical health and safety feature which allows workshop personnel to conduct and record essential pre-use safety inspections directly within the system. If any faults are recorded, the system will automatically inform Straightset’s Service Team and the immediate line manager of the technician. This allows for a safety remedy to be arranged. A quick an efficient response can be actioned to minimise downtime. Managers can access a Manager View which provides details of checks completed by technicians in the workshop.

After an incredible 34 years of dedicated service, we're celebrating the retirement of one of our longest-standing team members – Andy Gray.

From day one, Andy brought a tireless work ethic, an unwavering flexibility to travel the length and breadth of the country, and a remarkable ability to adapt across three key sectors of the business; Installation, Spraybooth, and Servicing.

Over the years, Andy has been much more than a Garage Equipment Engineer; A friendly, personable colleague and someone who never hesitated to lend a hand, whether it was supporting the office or passing on valuable skills to fellow engineers both on-site and off-site.

Now enjoying a well-earned retirement filled with home projects and some much-deserved rest, we simply want to say: Thank you. Wishing you all the best.

Should I turn my Air Compressor off overnight?
The short answer: Yes, you should.

Here’s why:
• It prevents unnecessary power usage from air leaks
• It reduces wear and tear on your compressor
• It avoids potential overnight damage if something fails
• It cuts down on energy costs and is better for the environment

Tip for HPC users: Don’t use the emergency stop! Just press the red standby button to avoid a full reset in the morning. To restart, just hit the green start button the next day.

If your compressor supports overnight systems, always check with your manufacturer for safe operation guidelines.
