McMenon has supplied two Venturi Flow Meters for the Puna Repower project.

Each unit is a 16" machined Venturi tube manufactured in carbon steel, engineered for reliable measurement of geothermal steam containing 99.8% steam and 0.2% CO₂.

To meet the project requirements, both Venturi Flow Meters underwent laboratory calibration and were finished with a specialised high-performance coating system:
• Primer: SIGMAZINC™ 158
• Topcoat: SIGMATHERM 540 — a heat-resistant silicone-based coating designed for demanding thermal environments.

This DN40 concentric square-edged or***ce with corner taps is mounted on a Schedule XS metering pipe and fitted with ASME Class 150/300 flanges, designed to deliver reliable, repeatable differential-pressure measurement in demanding process environments.

This week, members of our senior sales team including Kimberley Gorman and Ash Malaki, had the pleasure of visiting our long-standing partners at ABB Spain in Madrid.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to align on shared goals, explore improvements, and discuss how we can continue supporting each other as we move into 2026. Meeting the ABB Spain team in person strengthened the collaboration that has been built over many years, and their warm hospitality was truly appreciated.

We were proud to sponsor the recent Energy Coast UTC Annual Awards, celebrating the incredible achievements of their students and the dedication they show throughout the year.

As part of the evening, McMenon sponsored the McMenon Future Business Leader Award, recognising students who show outstanding leadership, ambition, and potential. Well done to the winner, Harley Taylor!

The award was presented by Russell Wigham, our Project and Sub-Contract Manager and a valued member of the Energy Coast UTC Governing Board.

Russell shared how inspiring it was to see so many talented young people being recognised and encouraged to pursue their future careers with confidence.

Earlier this week, we were delighted to welcome over 20 young female students from schools across West Cumbria, including Energy Coast UTC, St Benedict’s, and Workington Academy, for our Girls in Engineering Day at McMenon Engineering.

The event opened with our CEO, Anand Puthran, who welcomed the students and shared insights into McMenon and the practical applications of AI for students and businesses, emphasising the endless possibilities of immersive learning through curiosity and evolving questions. The students also heard from team members across key business areas including Sales, Planning, Engineering, and Quality, learning how each plays a vital role in bringing our innovative products to life.

We were also honoured to be joined by Hannah Thompson, Operations Director at Assystem and Non-Executive Director at Eadon Consulting, who shared her inspiring journey and insights into a successful career in engineering.

The day ended with students getting hands-on experience in our Production, Machining, and Welding departments - a real opportunity to see engineering in action!

It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the day.

McMenon is proud to supply Venturi Flow Meters for a major LNG project in Australia, supporting nitrogen removal in a Nitrogen Rejection Unit (NRU).

This advanced LNG facility processes natural gas with a high nitrogen content, which is carefully treated in the NRU. The removal of nitrogen is vital, not only for maintaining gas quality, but also for preventing tank rollover and other serious safety risks during storage.
