Ultrasonic welding creates a solid-state bond between conductors without introducing heat, flux, or filler material into the joint.

The result is a connection that's mechanically strong, electrically consistent, and resistant to the kind of degradation that can affect soldered or crimped joints over time in demanding applications.

It's not the right method for every connection, but where it is appropriate, it offers a level of reliability and repeatability that's difficult to achieve any other way.

At Tec-Stop, ultrasonic welding is part of our in-house capability set - meaning we can recommend and apply the most suitable joining method for your application rather than defaulting to whatever's easiest.

If you're working on an application where connection reliability is critical, we'd be happy to talk through whether ultrasonic welding is the right fit.

Most wiring issues that cause problems in service don't announce themselves at the point of installation.

They show up weeks or months later, and by the time they do, the cable is rarely the only thing that needs attention - it's the downtime, the diagnosis, and everything else that comes with it.

The quality of a battery cable is almost entirely in the construction decisions that were made before it left the factory.

If you'd like to talk through a specific application, get in touch and we'll tell you what we'd recommend and why.

It’s clear that cable assembly quality matters, so the key question is what actually drives it?

Small inconsistencies at build stage lead to delays, faults and time lost during testing. A controlled manufacturing process keeps everything consistent.

This quick read breaks down how design review, build, testing and quality control support repeatable, reliable supply - something we all want to see on our production lines.

The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has already increased supply chain disruption and raised energy costs for UK manufacturers in 2026, and it's far from the first time a shipping route disruption has had a direct impact on production schedules across the country.

For any business relying on overseas-sourced components for wiring and electronic assemblies, that exposure is becoming harder to justify when a UK-based alternative exists.

Having your assemblies designed, built, and tested on the same island they're being installed on removes the maritime dependency entirely and puts your schedule back in your own hands.

Prototype to production done right 🙂
Smooth installs, consistent builds, fewer faults.

Prototype to production done badly 🙁
Delays, rework, issues during testing.

This quick read breaks down what separates the two when it comes to wiring harness manufacturing, from early builds through to repeat OEM supply.

Managing multiple suppliers for wiring and electronic assemblies doesn't just create admin - it creates risk. When different vendors each own a different part of the process, nobody truly owns the outcome.

Consolidating with one capable partner means one point of contact, one clear timeline, and one team accountable for the result from start to finish. For OEM manufacturers, that's not just simpler - it's faster, with fewer handoffs and less uncertainty built into your schedule.

Add JIT delivery into the equation, and your production schedule stops absorbing supplier uncertainty. It runs to your timeline, not theirs.

Tec-Stop supports OEM manufacturers with end-to-end wiring and electronic assembly supply, including JIT delivery built around your production schedule. Get in touch to find out more.

🏃 They aren’t called quick packs for nothing!

Behind every smooth equipment build is something simple but essential: having the right parts in the right place at the right time.

Quick packs help keep wiring installations running efficiently across projects around the world. Instead of managing individual components, everything needed for the build arrives together, organised and ready to install.

If you’ve ever wondered how wiring installations stay organised across complex builds, our latest blog takes a closer look.

Unclear, unlabelled, or poorly marked wiring adds real time to every installation.

Someone has to trace the cable, work out where it goes, and hope the person who built the assembly had a logical system in place.

When they didn't, or when there isn't one at all, it costs time that was never budgeted for - and that cost repeats itself on every single job.

At Tec-Stop, wire marking and identification is built into our assembly process as standard, not treated as an optional extra.

One of our favourite machines for this is the Schleuniger CrimpCenter 64, which cuts, strips, prints and crimps in a single automated pass.

This means every cable leaves clearly and consistently marked without it ever becoming a bottleneck in production.

The practical results are faster installation, fewer errors, easier fault-finding, and a build that anyone picking it up for the first time can follow without needing to ask.

That might sound like a small detail, but on a busy installation job, it's the kind of detail that determines whether the day runs smoothly or doesn't.
