When we launched Brimstone timber cladding in 2016, we wanted to solve a problem. We wanted to use British timber to help fund local woodlands, to improve woodland management, reduce timber imports and road miles – and help UK woodlands to thrive.

Though it may seem counterintuitive, one of the best ways to protect local woodland is to use local wood. It helps fund investment in local forests, promotes better woodland management and encourages more tree-planting.

Created with nothing but heat, Brimstone is a durable and stable modified wood, made exclusively from locally grown hardwoods.

🌞 We’re now using solar panels and the sun’s energy to transform local British wood into our Brimstone timber cladding.

It’s our aim to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. And the installation of solar panels to power our timber cladding plant is an important step in the right direction.

Poplar is a fast growing renewable material, responsibly harvested and Grown in Britain certified. Brimstone poplar is transformed by thermal modification, a chemical free process that reconfigures wood using heat and steam. The result is a stable and durable material, highly resistant to pests and rot, and certified to withstand the weather for over 30 years.

Brimstone will always be a product with a purpose. It was created to help solve a problem and that’s the way it’ll stay. We don’t want to take over the world but we do want to use as much local wood as we can sustainably sourced and make a positive difference in our local woodlands.

The strong grain, lack of knots and deep dark chocolate colour of Brimstone ash offer a locally grown alternative to imported hardwoods.

The price and performance of Brimstone ash are similar to Canadian cedar. However unlike traditional Cedar, the thermal modification process removes most natural extractives resulting in relatively consistent weathering, largely free of staining. Weathering to a silvery grey colour occurs more quickly than for non-modified timber

Being the hardest and strongest of the Brimstone range, the ash is suited to the widest variety of end uses. Brimstone Ash is ideal for cladding, decking and joinery.
