⚽ Proud to play a part ⚽

With the new football season kicking off this week, we see our products going into a brand new sports arena, where our team were involved in the manufacture of lath for over 300 roller shutters.

Using Tata Steel UK DX51D steel - a high-ductility, flexible hot-dip coated steel conforming to BS EN 10346:2015 standard, we produced thousands of meters for a variety of applications and requirements.

It is great to see our products forming part of something on such scale, and even better knowing our customers can count on us for quality, accuracy and delivery when it matters

We are pleased to showcase this recent installation sent in by one of our customers who required our WM95™ system for the manufacture of 24 x Insulated Fire Exit Speed doors at a state-of-the-art facility in Warrington.

What sets our system apart?
Our 95mm Curved Foam Insulated Lath is designed and engineered to deliver a compact wrap at the top of the door opening, while maintaining rigidity through specific strengthening ribs on the front and back face of the profile. This lightweight lath design significantly minimizes deflection, allowing the use of a smaller diameter barrel and drive unit saving huge costs.

At West Mercia, we're setting the standard for large-scale, high performance applications with our WM95 profile. Each day, we produce thousands of meters of insulated lath manufactured from Hot Dip Galvanised Steel to DX51-Z2 and the full Colorcoat LG Plastisol range.

Our capabilities range for small openings 2000mm x 2000mm to larger applications with openings at 10,000mm wide, just like these two door kits we recently roll formed, assembled and crated direct to site for the customer in Newcastle, each over 10,000mm wide and nearly 5000mm high.

Finished in a sleek Sargasso Blue RAL5003 LG Plastisol with a leathergrain embossed texture, these doors showcase the exceptional strength and unique quirk performance of the WMS profile, engineered to handle the demands of doors of this scale.

Proud to share how West Mercia Sections played a crucial role in helping one of our customers secure an order for a 12 roller shutter doors for a B&Q distribution centre in Scotland.

Not only were we asked to take charge of the assembly procedure but also streamline the logistical process by delivering the assembled laths direct to site.

This approach not only saved time but also minimized handling, ensuring a smoother, more efficient operation for the customer.

It is a great example of how we're committed to adding value and supporting our customers every step of the way.

Check out this image sent by a customer showcasing six fully insulated 95mm doors installed at a site in the North East of England.

WM95™️ was the product of choice with five doors finished in sleek Silver RAL9006, while the sixth door stands out with its Anthracite RAL7016 finish.

Vision panels were specified with a unique brickbond pattern, departing from the usual inline pattern. A thoughtful choice which adds a distinctive touch to the design.

Quality and style come together perfectly in these installations!

Our custom roll form team have partnered with a market leading street furniture manufacturer to supply 2.5mm profiles for street furniture such as cycle parking, bike storage and seating.

As cycling is a fast-growing method of transport with measures to transform the infrastructure by 2025 there is a focus on helping cyclists feel more comfortable that their bikes are being held securely and safely with street furniture having a huge impact on the way the public use outdoor spaces.

Manufactured from 2.45mm DC04 material to EN10130:2006, this specification steel has excellent deep-drawing properties under all types of deformation, which is suitable for high performance requirements such as components for buildings, furniture, automotive and many more.
