➡️ A look at one of our NDT shielding bunkers taking shape.

At this stage, the structure is being prepared before the shielding build-up is completed using Raybloc lead-lined boards, creating a practical and coordinated solution for industrial radiography and non-destructive testing environments.

NDT shielding projects are often very different from standard healthcare imaging rooms. They can involve higher workloads, larger inspection areas, heavier equipment, and more complex access requirements, which is why the shielding design needs to be carefully coordinated from the beginning.

For Raybloc, this is where experience matters.

From lead-lined boards and bespoke wall build-ups to doors, penetrations and installation detailing, every element needs to work together to create a safe, compliant and practical controlled area.

25 years at Raybloc each.🎉That deserves a proper celebration.

Daz and Stu have been part of Raybloc for 25 years, and honestly, their dedication, skill and craftsmanship are unmatched.

We can talk about innovation, new products, new markets and exciting ventures, but the truth is, we are able to keep moving forward because people like Daz and Stu are the foundation behind everything we do.

They know the work. They know the standards. They know how to make things happen.

And yes, we did put some thought into the shirts. ⚽
A Wolves and a West Brom in the same room? Brave. 😂

A proper Black Country derby moment, handled with more professionalism than most match days.

Thankfully, when it comes to Raybloc, Daz and Stu are very much on the same team.

We love them wholeheartedly, and we’re incredibly proud to celebrate their 25 years of service.

Raybloc is Raybloc because of people like them. 💪

The weakest point in a CT control room window is not always the glass itself.

It can be the junction between the lead glass, the frame and the surrounding wall shielding.

For a control window to perform properly, the shielding has to be continuous. The lead glass, lead-lined frame, wall lining, fixings and overlaps all need to work together so there are no unprotected gaps around the window.

This is why lead-lined internal windows are not just a glazing item. They are a key coordination point within the wider shielding design.

You’ll typically see these windows used in:

• CT control rooms
• X-ray rooms
• Fluoroscopy rooms
• Cath labs
• Dental and CBCT rooms
• Veterinary imaging rooms
• Nuclear medicine and PET-CT areas
• Industrial and NDT inspection rooms

The window allows staff to observe the patient, equipment or process clearly while maintaining the required level of radiation protection.

Good shielding is not only about the material. It is about how every detail connects.

Yesterday, the Raybloc team attended Willmott Dixon’s Charity Pub Quiz in support of Tŷ Hafan Children's Hospice.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Quayside Distillery in Exeter, it was a brilliant evening, and we were very proud to be part of something so meaningful while also enjoying it to the fullest.

Tŷ Hafan Children's Hospice provides comfort, care and support to children with life-shortening conditions and their families, both in the hospice and within the wider community. Their work helps families access vital care, create meaningful memories, and feel supported during incredibly difficult times.

😅As for our position in the quiz, we won’t be revealing that here…

Let’s just say, if the questions had been about radiation shielding, we would have been much more confident.

A huge thank you to Willmott Dixon for organising such a great event and for bringing people together for such an important cause.

A look behind the scenes at a Raybloc RF MRI Door currently in production at our UK manufacturing facility.

In one of the images, you can even spot the reflection of Stu and Steve 😄 in the polished copper surface during the manufacturing process of one of our Raybloc RF MRI doors.

What makes this particularly special to us is that our MRI RF shielding solutions, including RF doors, RF windows, and Faraday cage systems, are manufactured in the very same facility where our trusted Raybloc lead lined doorsets have been produced for years.

At Raybloc - The Radiation Shielding Specialists, we take great pride in manufacturing in the UK while maintaining close control over quality, consistency, and craftsmanship throughout every stage of production.

These images capture a mid production stage of the manufacturing process, something we are proud to share more openly as we continue expanding our MRI shielding capabilities across healthcare and research environments.

😊 “Yesterday, we didn’t just give a Raybloc tour… we met the future.”

Raybloc had the pleasure of welcoming students from Perton Middle School, and what started as a workshop visit quickly became something much more meaningful.

Walking through our facility were future architects, construction engineers, RPAs, NHS professionals, along with many more future designers, scientists, creatives, and leaders in the making. It was incredible to see such curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored what we do, why we do it, and how the subjects they study connect to the real world.

From the Faraday cage sparking endless questions to hands-on discussions about materials, radiation safety, and design, the engagement was something you couldn’t script. Gavin Mooney, David Gatenby, Clarke Haydon and ISHWARI PATIL led the session brilliantly, bringing everything to life and making complex ideas simple and relatable.

A special thank you to Mrs Chloe Shelley for organising the visit and giving the students this opportunity to experience a real working environment.

Moments like this remind us that what we do goes beyond products and projects. It’s about inspiring the next generation and showing them what’s possible.

A genuine highlight for all of us at Raybloc 👏

☢️ Making getting your RPA report easy.

If you’re planning a dental, veterinary, or medical imaging room, you’ll already know that an RPA report is a key part of ensuring compliance under IRR17.

These assessments must be carried out by a designated Radiation Protection Adviser, who will calculate the shielding requirements and define how your room should be designed safely.

At Raybloc, we don’t carry out the RPA assessment ourselves. Instead, we simplify the process.
Just head to our website, click the link, and submit your project details. From there, we coordinate everything through our trusted RPA network and guide you through the next steps.

🔴 You focus on your project. We’ll handle the rest. From RPA Report to Installation.

We were delighted to host the team from Agrarian Ltd at Raybloc - The Radiation Shielding Specialists yesterday 😊.

A big thank you to Peter Hall and Sam Hall for joining us for a live CPD session, followed by a factory tour led by Iain McIver (Commercial Manager)and David Gatenby (Commercial Director).

It was a great session with valuable discussions around radiation shielding for veterinary environments, and an opportunity to showcase how our solutions are manufactured in-house.

Agrarian Veterinary are doing fantastic work in designing and delivering high-quality veterinary facilities, and it’s great to see the level of detail and care that goes into their projects.

We’re grateful for the kind feedback and look forward to working together on future projects.
