What a day. At the beginning of the summer, 22 teams came out to The Warwickshire Golf Club for the Readypower Charity Golf Day, all in support of the Lighthouse Charity.

We're still totting up the final numbers, but it's looking like we've raised over £20,000. Huge thanks to everyone who played, sponsored, or just came along to support the day. That includes our customers and supply chain partners who dug deep to make this happen.

The Lighthouse Charity provides wellbeing and crisis support to construction workers and their families across the UK and Ireland, so every penny raised goes somewhere that really matters.

Bill Hill, Honorary Vice President of Lighthouse, said: “Readypower Group, their customers and their supply chain have been terrific supporters of Lighthouse. At a time when our charity services are so needed, they have stood up to the challenge and raised an amazing amount to help us deliver our support services to our construction community.”

Thanks to everyone who made it such a great day.

Rail drainage is hard to get right precisely because it's out of sight, you're often working blind until there's already a problem.

Our Readypower Rail Services on-track teams handle everything from locating buried catch pits and clearing them, through silt and ballast removal and quick clearance of culverts and troughing ducts, to water jetting of pipe runs and cable ducts, wet bed removal, and non-intrusive excavation around cables.

We can also offer a CCTV survey where you need eyes on exactly what's happening below ground, not just a description of it.

If drainage is causing you problems on a live rail asset, or you're not sure what's down there in the first place, that's a conversation worth having before it becomes a bigger job. Get in touch at [email protected].

This is the kind of message that makes all the late nights worth it.

John Lawton, Infrastructure Maintenance Delivery Works Manager at TfL, took the time to write to our Readypower Rail Services team after we delivered the Fisher Street, Custom House and Stepney Green crossings:

"What was a last-minute piece of work turned into a huge success because of the way everyone stepped up. The commitment shown, the extended hours put in, and the willingness to go above and beyond when it was needed most did not go unnoticed.

Most importantly, despite the pressures and tight timescales, the work was delivered safely and professionally, which is exactly how we want to operate.

Pieces of work like this show the strength we have in our team and suppliers. Everyone pulled together, supported each other, and got the job done to a high standard."

We're proudest of the safety line. It's non-negotiable on every job we run, tight deadline or not, and it means a lot to have a client see that and say so.

Huge credit to everyone who stepped up on this one: our Readypower Rail Services team and our suppliers.

Huge congratulations to our apprentice Yoosuf Ajij, Highly Commended in the Plant Mechanic of the Year category at the Construction Plant Hire Association's Stars of the Future Awards.

This is what our apprentice scheme is all about - giving people the tools and support and seeing them run with it. We have new apprentices joining our scheme every September to keep building our talent pipeline. Results like this are exactly why we keep investing in it.

Yoosuf was at the ceremony with just a handful of the team behind the training, including: Danny Tighe (Engineering Training Manager), Sarah Stevenson (Head of Training), Daryl Sim (Head of Engineering) and Carlin Yon (Workshop Foreman).

Well done Yoosuf, we’re all proud of you.

This week, we’re delighted to thank Bryn Hall, one of our Operators based out of Nottingham. During June working on a month-long blockade, he reported 8 close calls. His engagement with the process and dedication to his work ensured that potential incidents were fixed before they became serious.

Close call reporting is an important part of our culture here at Readypower and Bryn’s reporting is testament to the culture being ingrained and working. The more close calls we hear about, the more opportunities we have to prevent possible incidents. From our on-site teams to our office-based staff, everyone is encouraged to report close calls when they spot them.

For us, speaking up is celebrated, noticing something isn’t awkward and people make a change based on the close calls reported.

Thank you to Bryn and to all our teams who make the safety of themselves and others non-negotiable.
