A couple of weeks ago we attended the Careers Morning at The Henry Box School, an inspiring event helping students at every stage of their journey👏

It was fantastic to see all the different activities taking place, from exploring future careers, to developing employability skills and chatting with industry professionals.

We are passionate about being part of our community and helping out the next generation and it was fantastic to be able to share insights into our industry and encouraging the students to think about all the possibilities ahead.

Thank you to The Henry Box School for having us and to our employees who gave up their time to make this such a valuable experience for the students.

The right candidate must have:

- An engineering degree involving mechanical, electrical or product design.
- Relevant work experience is preferable.
- Research and development engineering experience preferable.
- Experience of 3D CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
- Experience of working with Product Development.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and experience of product testing.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Good project management, organisation and communication skills.
- A flexible and cooperative approach.
- Able to work autonomously with concise reporting when required.
- Reliable, innovative and collaborative.

Happy New Year! We are kicking off our first post of 2026 by celebrating National Static Electricity Day ⚡

This day is all about exploring static electricity.. what it is, how it is created and how easily we encounter it in everyday life.

At Meech, helping customers understand and control static is at the heart of what we do. That starts from understanding the basics: static electricity occurs when positive and negative charges within atoms become unbalanced.

Materials such as plastic, cloth and glass are all insulators, meaning their electrons don't move freely. When two insulators are rubbed together, electrons can transfer from one surface to another, creating a build-up of charge.

The result? Clinging contamination, small sparks or that familiar shock we have all felt when touching a surface as the charge finally discharges and balance is restored.

Whilst static electricity can be a curiosity, in manufacturing it can be a big problem by messing with production in all sorts of ways including contamination attraction, material handling nightmares, quality control issues and equipment downtime.

National Static Electricity Day is a great reminder to learn more about how static affects industrial environments, why managing it matters and how our equipment can help. Here's to a cleaner and more efficient 2026!
