A recent enquiry through our website came with a challenging requirement – a batch of large M45 x 1.5 x 350 (Extra Fine) socket screws needed to be manufactured and delivered within just two weeks.

Fortunately, we had 45 x 600 Grade 12.9 socket screw blanks in stock, allowing us to get started immediately. We sourced the required thread gauge within 72 hours, then completed the thread cutting and rolling in just over a week.

The finished screws were delivered to the customer within the requested two-week window, meeting both the specification and the deadline.

After receiving the goods the customer then sent us an email

Thomas Smith Fasteners recently supplied a customer in Peru, South America, with special alloy 32750 fasteners in imperial sizes. The customer specified a delivery requirement of 6 weeks, and the material must be of EU origin with mill certs.

Super Duplex 32750 (UNS S32750) is a premium, high-strength stainless steel used primarily in
harsh, chloride-rich environments and corrosive industrial applications where standard stainless steels (like 316) fail.
It is highly resistant to saltwater pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking

Super Duplex 32750 (often called UNS S32750 or SAF 2507) achieves a hardness of
up to 310 HB (Brinell) or 32 HRC (Rockwell C)
