Smith Bullough attended the 2024 Hillhead Quarrying Machinery & Equipment exhibition. The event is famous for displaying the latest quarrying machinery and equipment, offering a great chance for industry professionals to network and see new innovations.

At the exhibition, it was pleasing to see that many exhibitors were already using our special fasteners in their machinery. Seeing these applications up close gave us valuable insights into the benefits and reliability of our unique fasteners in tough quarrying environments.

ENGINEERING VACANCY

We have a vacancy in our specialist manufacturing section. The section includes
CNC Turning and Milling, Thread Rolling, Drilling and Grinding.

The candidate:
Previous experience working in a company producing CNC or engineering parts is beneficial not essential.
You must be able to demonstrate an interest in engineering or industrial manufacturing.
You must be computer literate
Academic qualifications, especially in Maths and English, are beneficial.
A team player and able to get on with others.

You will learn:

1. How to operate and, when capable, to set the different machines.
2. To read and programme from a drawing or sample. We use both metric and imperial measurements.
3. To work with all types of materials
4. Quality and Health & Safety procedures

We offer:
1. Competitive rates of pay
2. 39 hours per week. (Monday to Friday, Day shift)
3. Plenty of variety as we produce jobbing batch quantities. Never a dull moment!
