TIME ATTACK RD 4 – Brands

– BTT Motorsport
Having only driven Brands for the first time in March this year, Dan needed to get up to speed as quickly as possible. Warm up we sent Dan out on is wet tyres which we have done at previous rounds to just get a feel of the car and track before stepping up the tyre choice. This round Dan has moved from the tried and trusted AR-1 to the new CR’S, they must have been a lot faster because dan refused to pit mid-session but took qualifying P1 and then stepped it up again for P1 in the Final with a s Solid 54.02. Maximum Points. Simply Loveleh.

Feeling a little anxious before the Round with 32 cars on track during her sessions and traffic going to play a huge part in setting fast times. Step in Mark from who came down to Focus on Laura and help her maximise her confidence and settle her nerves before each session. Leaving Myself and Ell to focus on the cars and making sure they are working perfectly! Teamwork really does make the dream work. Laura managed a 57.801 another PB and placed 8th out of 11 BUT with only 7 tenths between herself and P5 which was the closest gap throughout the whole field. Well Done Laura.

“True Success Requires Sacrifice” and sometimes that’s what Luke does. Without going too much into detail Luke had a nightmare two weeks leading up to brands (watch it on his youtube that explains everything better than I ever could) Warm up and Practice quickly showed is this was a 3way dog fight for the win, the veteran that is , and in the GTI. Qualifying and the Final proved difficult for Luke with IAT’s reaching north of 60Degs. Solution.. 5L Bottles on Water on the intercooler before going out. Job done, Managed to get a few fast laps in and was just pipped to P2 by a Tenth. Considering the efforts gone into getting the car ready for Brands. We will take P3. Great Effort Luke and Everyone involved behind the scenes.

Inner child & Adult responsibilities 🟡

After being recommended to us when buying his MK4 from .onlycars (Thank you Alex🙏🏼) Jack messaged us asking if we could service and look after his new car going forward! Obviously we can do that.

Jack uses the car as his daily driver, with occasional trackday but to take him on fishing trips around the country.

Fast forward and we have just completed the following for Jack

TIME ATTACK RD 3 – Cadwell Park

Dan Buckingham – BTT Motorsport.
Following a bitter sweet end to Anglesey the fight was on the get Dans car back together with a new gearbox with there only being 13 days between Anglesey and Cadwell. Dan managed to find a Second Hand Brand New box to run for the rest of the year (if he doesn’t money shift this one too).
Couple late nights and we managed to get the box changed in Dans garage on some quick lifts, something we wouldn’t want to do again put it that way. During the day Dan got faster and faster. Edging evermore to his PB at Cadwell. After a brief red flag in the final I told Dan to man up, send it and get this P1 boxed off. And to be fair to him, he did . He got a PB and P1 with a time of 1:41.475. Smashed it.

Laura Tebbs – Midnight Motorsports.
We spent the Night before utilising the Scrutineering bay scales to try to get the car as balanced as we possibly could. Going into warm up Laura was Still suffering from the brakes locking up, Swapping her Pads to a less aggressive one made a huge difference and instantly Laura was seconds quicker in Practice and Qualifying. Competing for the first time at her Favourite track. We expected big things from Laura here and with niggles all day here and there we told her the was no excuses now going into the final, Oh did she deliver. Smashing 4 PB’s on 4 consecutive laps and managing a 1:46.53. Bloody Proud.

Luke Capehorn – Midnight Motorsports.
The Problem Child. We have said it before that Vauxhalls aren’t our thing, We assist the mystero which is Ell from Midnight Motorsport as much as we can during the weekends with Lukes car and there’s always work to be done. Noticeably Lukes least favourite track the Astra set some good times in warm up and Practice, and so did everyone else in Club2WD making for a nip and tuck Qualifying and Final. At an Unusually hot Cadwell park with air temps north of 20deg, tire pressures and temps were so important here Luke then went and pulled out some AMAZING laps in the final to get a 1:36.105. P3 at your least favourite track, BOSSED

Alien Green v Green Hell

come to us a couple of weeks ago for a health check with the forwarding planning of his Nurburgring trip.

A couple issues identified and booked back In for the works to be carried out a couple weeks later.

However this Renault alternator had other ideas and decided it didn’t want to work anymore. So that was added to the list, 24 hours later and the car was running and ready to take on the infamous Green hell.

And make some really good instagrams. He’s a content creator 😉 check him out!

2024🤯

Our returning customer come all the way back up from Birmingham again to have us carry out a major Cambelt service on his clio before heading out on a 2500mile Roadtrip across Europe stopping off at Ultrace and the Nurburgring in the process!

Callum’s car is genuinely a pleasure to work on, the attention to detail is unmatched. I’m sure he’s making this into one of the nicest LY’s we have ever worked on… keep it up 👏🏼

And who said these can’t be practical! That boots pretty full! (Including the battery relocation we did for him 😉)

Bit lazy on the posts 🥸

Connor asked us to refresh all of his brakes for him before a trip to the Nurburgring and with the help of our friends at M.S Custom Engineering we did just that.

We also found the cv boot had split so replaced that too along with some corroded standard brakes lines 🤝🏻

Story time 📖

Kevin rang us on dull and boring Wednesday asking if we could get him out a pickle. He had already purchased a radiator support from us but was struggling to get the car booked in for disc and pads All round before his son’s first trackday the following Monday.

With Kev willing to make the 7 hour round trip to us from Dunblane, we had to help. Opening up on a Saturday we got the car onto the ramp first thing. However… after a quick inspection it became clear the rear drivers CALIPER was seized.

A few phone calls later we sourced a new unit but it was 40mins away! Sending a member of staff on the trip we continued replacing the rest of the discs and pads.

Safe to say Kev was back on his way before 1pm with all the work completed and him slightly happier to let his son loose at Knock hill!

Time Attack Round up 🚗💨

Round 1 - Coastal

Racing again under we first met Luke at Anglesey last year doing some testing, the second time was on the last minute trip to .

We will openly admit that Astra’s aren’t our thing. But what we can do is support and Luke where we can, fueling up, setting and recording tyre pressures. Anything we can.

Luke told us before the warm up he is going for lap records in class and going for the Club 2wd crown. And we certainly believe him.

From the off lapping extremely quickly in the BTCC themed car and setting the early pace.

Luke was looking good for atleast p2 (behind a factory TCR RS3 Might we add) heading into Quali

Half was through we noticed a little pin hole in the rad. Bringing an early finish to quali for the Astra.

A few frantic phone calls we found another Proalloy rad 2 hours away and set someone for it to be fitted before round 2 on the Sunday. For the final, we needed a plan. We did what we could. Managed to get the rad to hold coolant for 1 flying lap before having to bring the car in.

That one lap got luke an extra 8 points In the standings.

A night stripping the car and swapping the rad went late into Saturday night. BUT. The car was ready for round 2.

P2 in quali p3 in the final. That’ll do.

Time Attack Round up 🚗💨

Round 1 - Coastal

Racing under our friends at we offer pit support for the car on this one.

A week prior we was asked to make the 3 hour journey down to help get the car ready for the first round, which we did, leaving at 10pm Sunday to make the 3 hour trip back up to sunny Wigan with the car ready to compete. Bosh.

Extremely proud of Laura entering for a full season and the first female competitor to do so in 10 years. Amazing.

Round 1 found Laura finding her feet on a track layout she’s never done before and having only done the international layout in the wet during December. There was improvements session on session.

Placing 7th out of 9 competitors on her debut and being within 1.3 seconds of seasoned time attack competitors is something to be proud of 💕

Time Attack Round up 🚗💨

Round 1 - Coastal

Racing under BTT motorsport, Dan a long time customer in his none Renault car 🙄 setting out on his full season of time attack, huge time and effort has been put into the car over the winter to get as much as possible out of the car keeping within the regs of Clubman class.

Setting the pace early on with in warm up and practice it looked like a it was going to be a good day in the office. And it was, setting a 1:18:565 in the final. A new PB AND TIME ATTACK LAP RECORD FOR CLUBMAN 🤓

However that’s where it ended unfortunately in the closing laps of the final the civic no longer liked 4th gear… again.

The push was on to get the old box out and a new one in. That’s done so it’s off to to recheck alignment and we ready for Cadwell.
