HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAUL! 🥳 It's been 37 days since Spain lifted the 2026 FIFA World Cup. While football didn't come home, there's one tournament we'll be talking about for a while yet...
Throughout the entire competition, our Sales Executive, Paul Hagan, organised a World Cup sweepstake and a score prediction league that quickly became part of everyone's daily routine.
The sweepstake saw every member of the team draw four nations, with John Forester picking up £40 after Argentina finished as runners-up, while Marie Moran took home the £80 top prize thanks to Spain's triumph. Along the way there were plenty of bonus prizes too, including hot dogs and air fresheners (don’t ask!) that somehow became just as competitive!
As if that wasn't enough, Paul also ran a score prediction league covering all 104 matches. After more than 9,300 minutes of football, Paul Forester emerged as our prediction champion.
What made it even better was that Paul organised the whole thing off his own back. From the live sweepstake draw and meticulously colour-coded spreadsheets to the daily WhatsApp updates and inevitable football banter, he helped create something that brought the whole team together for over a month.
It's moments like these that make E-Tech Components such a great place to work. A little friendly competition, plenty of laughs and a real sense of togetherness.
