Share And Coulter

Share And Coulter The Share and Coulter is a lively, spacious venue, with a fantastic family-friendly feel, in the heart of the countryside close to Herne Bay and Whitstable.

Visitors might find they arrive in the middle of a battle, but they need not worry it will just be a re-enactment by East Kent Historical Organisation. The pub has a comfortable interior with oak beams, low ceilings and an inglenook fireplace and dates back to the 18th century, listed as a “beer shop” with James Harris as “beer house keeper” in the 1861 census. In a rural setting, the pub is surro

unded by farmland and has spacious gardens including a children’s play park with a good range of equipment. There is plenty of parking. The pub has its own football pitch and team and also sponsors darts, pool and bat and trap teams. Darts, pool, petanque, bat and trap, dominoes and cards are available to guests and quiz, gourmet and karaoke nights are popular events. Traditional restaurant food is served for up to 45 covers.

Called in the old place yesterday with the 2 little girls who used to call this home!
The youngest now 9 years old could not stop crying. She along with my 10 year old could not understand how this lovely old building could be left like this for so long??
It’s an absolute disgrace !

It is with great sadness that I post this message aimed at all my old regular customers
Regrettably I can inform you of the death of my bff Lord Andy Croucher.
He will be sadly missed by all of my family along with his siblings and the many friends he had
Often called “the book of knowledge “ he was indisputably a very clever man with honesty and reliability second to none
God bless you matey and I hope you have now found peace
Take care everybody

Hi to all of our ex customers

Well what can we say????

What used to be our lovely public house and of course our home! Is now a complete bloody mess.
Some people and we all know who they are have absolutely no respect for anything or anyone.
It upsets all of us when we see the devastation caused by mindless idiots along with the complete lack of interest from the new owners.

Another beautiful country pub gone probably forever !

See you all around

Hi all
Despite desperate attempts to keep the pub we are finally forced to give up in a couple of weeks
The pub is being sold at auction by Clive Emsom on 16th September
Anyone interested call them but remember this is the only pub in greenhill so de licensing is not a viable option
Also remember about the sewer treatment plant and it's running costs as well as how useless the field is for 9 months of the year
It's a shame that shepherd neame did not give this place a chance when they could of had a slip road on and off London bound a299 or later when they knew about road closures and flooding problems
Anyway thanks for all the support you all gave us and hope to see you all in the future somewhere
Regards trev Claire and family

Hi all
Due to all the chaos around us with road closures and construction works we regrettably are forced to close during the day
We are however open from 4pm Tuesday to Friday till close
Weekends we will be open as usual
We are trying to keep the share open so please support it when passing. You will miss it if it closes!

What a complete c**k up
We already suffer from the road closure of thornden wood road but for several weeks now we also have a mountain of mud across owls hatch road which is the diversion used for this road closure
This is an accident waiting to happen. And a bad accident this will be
Forty foot articulated lorries now using molehill road ???
The same lorries traveling away past Herne bay high at peak times
God help us when they can go past the briars school
Anyway we continue to try here at the share but can not sustain many more months of this disruption
No one seems to care from the authorities so this could be the final year of another village pub
Everybody misses these after they are no longer available.so please use it or lose it
Spare a thought for the authorities who.let all this happen at the wettest time of year whilst repairing the local drains
Well done KCC and CCC
