⚡ Vermeer’s first fully electric horizontal directional drill is here!
Meet the Vermeer D120E – bringing the performance of a larger maxi rig into a more compact package, without the need for diesel.
With 1,200 kN of pullback force and 110 kNm of maximum torque, the D120E is built to take on challenging ground conditions while offering a quieter, more efficient solution for HDD projects.
Here’s what makes it stand out:
🔋 Electric power
A direct electric drive delivers precise control over force, speed and positioning, helping to reduce energy use and machine wear.
⚡ Flexible power options
The D120E can connect to a local grid, a 200–350 kVA genset or a battery pack, giving operators flexibility across different sites.
🔧 Built for bigger jobs
Compatible with Range 2 drill pipe, the full-rack travelling vice can handle pipes up to 7.625" in diameter and steel casing up to 16" (406 mm).
🖥️ Digital control
The offboard operator cab features capacitive joysticks, a digital HMI and real-time operational data logging.
The D120E is well suited to urban utility crossings, noise-sensitive sites and projects where reducing emissions and operating costs is a priority.
See this machine in person at No-Dig Live 2026 from 29th September to 1st October 2026 or contact Jason Barnes to arrange a demonstration.👇
