Breaking News. A YouTube crew that films underground tunnels and bunkers almost found us whilst trying to gain entry.

Armed Police response was swift. We are informed the video equipment is seized pending deletion and reset.

Funny thing is, only one high ranking officer new of us. Made them a cup of tea and they said it was the most interesting night out they've had in Warrington!

We showed them around and they let us try their night vision gear out in the pitch black, cool kit.

There have been several messages received now asking “where is the this nuclear test facility” & “how do you get in”.

Well it’s under Warrington like the description, most of Warrington!!

The entrance is obviously top secret until the bunker is declassified for decommissioning but that is some time off yet due to the volatile nature of the materials stored here.

It takes 17 hours to strip a depleted uranium shell and “clean” it, and there’s a lot of shells to do. Munitions and chemical agents are stored at different ends of the site for safety, obviously, what do you take us for. It can take some time to buggy from one end to another but there’s no traffic lol. I always take a packed lunch :)

So it took us a couple of nights of disaster simulation testing to think of a song that symbolises what we do in a top secret underground nuclear test facility where we can’t even manage the paperclips.

On the last 3 week shift we set a challenge to make a simple safety poster to stick around the underground test facility.

Rule 1 Simple to understand.
Rule 2 must not contain references to our secret location
Rule 3 Must make people go wow, I’ll be very careful

WTF, turn up for a 3 week stint underground to find these signs have been updated !

They stayed at normal when Saddam was running a mock so what’s going on ? We just get kept in the dark, well yeh we are in the dark down here lol.

We found a hidden room, exciting, this place is massive, it’s a wonder Warrington hasn’t fallen in !

No idea what this stuff is, we can’t find any paperwork yet but Colin thinks it’s Tabun (GA)
An old chemical munition which inhibits AChE, the enzyme responsible for the breakdown of the neurotransmitter ACh. When inhaled, its toxicity is half that of sarin.

Colin thinks it does smell like Tabun, not to worry, he said if it’s that old it’s probably ok, he feels fine.

We took some snacks today and headed out through the Decon room to the escape hatch via the northern shaft close to Hermitage Green. Knackered, when something goes bad it’s too far away!

Can’t measure distance as sat nav stuff don’t work underground. Guessing 4 miles ???

Deep below Warrington in a warren of tunnels and rooms is Cheshire’s very own nuclear test facility. We also offer storage to some of the worlds most volatile nuclear weapons awaiting decommissioning. We recycle weapons grade uranium and use this to power our mini reactor, saving on electricity.

We carry out testing no one else will touch. Testing is very safe with hardly any big accidents.
