Bespoke Closure: Custom Self-Retaining Cable Guide

Refining the next generation of a bespoke closure featuring a custom self-retaining cable guide and optimising for manufacture and targetting potential reliability risks.

Using design reviews and FEA, our engineers identified high-stress areas and refined the geometry to improve stress distribution, durability, and mouldability. Wall thickness transitions were also optimised to reduce warping and surface defects.

After validating the design with in-house 3D printed prototypes, the solution was approved for production, reducing time, cost, and risk.

Driving EV safety innovation - Passenger airbag nut

TR partnered with a leading OEM to develop the next generation passenger airbag nut, designed for in-moulding into the instrument panel, for a new range of EV vehicles.

Using our cold forging expertise, we created a solution that reduced costs, simplified automated assembly, and delivered outstanding mechanical performance without compromising quality.

Extensive testing, including airbag deployment and pull-out validation, combined with 100% optical sorting, ensured the highest standards for this critical safety application.

The result: successful implementation across Europe, North America, and Asia, with TR achieving directed vendor status worldwide.
