What's our apprentice been up to? We checked in to see!

He told us:

"Over the last couple of weeks at college, I made a twisted block and added a small frog carving to the side. I also spent time learning about different types of arches before making an ovolo and cavetto moulding with a semicircle in the middle to push myself a bit further.

The twist was quite repetitive, so adding the frog was a nice change and gave me a chance to be a bit more creative. I also really enjoyed the masonry work in the second week, it reminded me why I wanted to get into stonemasonry in the first place.

I learned a lot about arches, improved my carving skills and gained some good practice that reinforced what I've been learning so far. Most of the work was completed independently, and although some parts were challenging, they felt more like puzzles to solve than problems to overcome."

We think he's getting on splendidly!

We recently promoted Martha to head of health and safety. It started well. Her enthusiasm kept morale high but we noticed she would disappear for hours at a time.

One of the team noticed half her sandwich was missing and it we followed the crumb trail and this is what we found!

During a management meeting, we decided to keep her own as chief seat warmer.
