Our custom stainless steel slide at Crystal Palace Playground was designed to feel sculptural from every angle, blending play, movement and landscape into one piece.

And judging by the constant queue of children racing back for another go, these slides quickly became the absolute favourite feature of the playground.

A new addition to the landscape and one we’re really excited about.

This structure brings together the best of both worlds. A hybrid of steel and timber, combining strong steel posts and ground connections with warm, tactile timber frames, soft ropes and climbing nets.

The result is a perfect balance of strength where it matters and softness where children engage. It invites climbing, hanging, balancing and exploring in a way that feels natural and rewarding, especially for older children looking for more challenge.

The bold orange posts create a constant pop of colour, keeping the structure feeling fresh, vibrant and full of energy for years to come. Every component has been designed with longevity in mind, with elements that can be easily swapped out or refreshed as part of ongoing maintenance.

Fun, unique and highly engaging. A structure that evolves, lasts and keeps children coming back for more.

The new Dinosaur Playground at Crystal Palace Park opens to visitors today 🦖

Part of the wider regeneration of Crystal Palace Park, this project has been delivered by and , designed by , and brought to life by and PlayEquip.

The scheme brings together a series of bespoke play elements and dino themed playground equipment, creating a varied and engaging landscape for children of all ages and abilities.

It has also been thoroughly tested and approved by one very enthusiastic dinosaur expert on our team, who made sure every element lived up to expectations.

This project has been made possible through major grants from , thanks to National Lottery players, alongside funding from the London Marathon Foundation, , The Wolfson Foundation and .

PlayEquip x Mulberry House School, London
A site-specific build designed to make the most of every inch of space and every part of the budget.

This bespoke play structure was created to fit perfectly within the school’s courtyard and installed within a tight summer holiday window. It features many of the elements we love to design and build such as our timber tunnel, rope bridges, climbing play, and a raised planter to soften the space and bring a touch of greenery into the playground.

We’re increasingly integrating planters and planting into our schemes to balance natural materials with play value. We believe great playgrounds should feel alive, not just rubber and colour.

From the streets to the sky.

On the ground floor of a new residential tower in the Isle of Dogs, East London, we adapted off-the-shelf playground equipment to suit the space; above, a podium structure mirrors the forms and materials for a cohesive residents’ play experience. Incredible planting curated by the very talented Studio Bosk ties both areas together beautifully.
A detail-led collaboration by all parties, with a very happy result.

One of our latest design and builds done in collaboration with and in the heart of Wembley Park.

Set across multiple podium gardens, the brief called for something more imaginative than the off-the-shelf norm — something sculptural, integrated, and full of play value.

Our response: two custom-built timber and steel structures offering ramps, nets, slides, and spaces to climb, explore, and hide. Play is embedded in the lush, curved topography of the landscape — no plastic ships or springy frogs here.

As specialists in podium playground design, we understand the unique challenges these elevated environments present — from weight loading and access, to creating meaningful, natural-feeling play in constrained urban spaces. It’s a niche we’ve honed, and one where creative thinking really pays off.

The wider project also includes reimagined ‘standard’ elements like balance beams, activity panels, and wobble disks — each one carefully placed to suit the space.

We love projects like this, where meaningful collaboration leads to something truly site-specific and joyful.

Here’s a custom wooden shade we created to protect one of our stainless steel slides from the summer sun. Designed in 3D CAD, it allowed us to calculate the sun’s position through the hottest months — keeping the slide safe, cool, and fun to use.
