Diagnosed a faulty i70 so agreed with customer to replace both i70 displays with 2x new i70s which match in nicely with the autopilot's P70s controller head. We then moved the second good i70 down to the chart table for instant sailing data without having to go up on deck.

The customer was very pleased with this small but useful improvement to his boat.

We were pleased to be asked to carry out a complete lithium upgrade and charger/inverter installation on board a sailing yacht at Port Solent.

We replaced the existing 580Ah AGM bank with 1200Ah of Fogstar lithium batteries, more than quadrupling the usable capacity. All kept in check with Victron Energy charging and monitoring systems.

There were a few practical challenges, but nothing that couldn't be overcome, and the result was a very happy customer who can now spend more time away from marinas without running the generator.

Another cheap fix for a customer who worried his intermittent position would mean expensive upgrades. Simply replaced the "secret" battery in the GPS antenna and all is well!

I was called out to fit a brand new AIS700 that the customer had purchased after being told by another engineer that their AIS650 was faulty. Before fitting I insisted on testing the original AIS650 myself and concluded the issue was in fact just a faulty GPS antenna. Total cost for part £110, AIS retested and fully functional. Customer can now return their new AIS700 and save nearly £900 👌
