From documented processes and internal audits to testing, supplier controls and evidence, the aim is to ensure the right structure is in place as the new facility comes into operation.

We’re pleased to be supporting the ongoing refurbishment of Kippen Village Hall, helping to make this important community facility more accessible for everyone.

Work is now complete on the creation of two accessible parking bays close to the hall entrance, as well as improvements to the pedestrian access, addressing uneven surfaces and improving accessibility for visitors with mobility difficulties.

The project is part of a wider two-year effort to bring the much-loved hall back into community use, with more than £230,000 raised by volunteers to support the refurbishment.

As Katie Peters, our Head of Charitable Donations, Grants and Sponsorships, said: “Community buildings are at the heart of so many local activities, and we know that improving accessibility can make a genuine difference to the people who use them.”

We are proud to play a small part in helping secure the hall’s future for the community.

Hillhouse Quarry Group is looking for a reliable and experienced Production Operative to join our concrete manufacturing team.

This is a varied, hands-on role covering the end-to-end production of concrete blocks, including operating block-making machinery and forklifts, monitoring product quality and supporting the wider production process.

Applicants must have a valid, accredited counterbalance forklift licence for up to 10 tonnes and previous experience within a heavy industrial, construction or manufacturing environment.

We’re Hiring: Technical Supervisor – East of Scotland

Due to continued growth, Hillhouse Quarry Group is looking for an experienced Technical Supervisor to join our Technical Operations team, based at Crossgates and covering sites across the East of Scotland.

The successful candidate will lead our Technicians in their daily duties, overseeing the sampling and testing of asphalt, ready-mix concrete, concrete products and aggregates to ensure quality and compliance with relevant standards.

We’re looking for someone with a minimum of two years’ experience testing quarry and bituminous materials, alongside strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

Hillhouse Quarry Group is looking for an experienced Loading Shovel / Quarry Operative to join our operational production team at Hillhouse Quarry in Troon.

Working within a busy quarry environment, the role involves operating a loading shovel to load hoppers, crushers, screeners and vehicles with crushed aggregates, as well as moving and stocking products around the site.

We’re looking for someone with quarrying and loading experience who can work safely and effectively as part of a busy team.

A valid loading shovel ticket is preferred, ideally an MPQC Blue Card, although candidates with relevant experience who do not currently hold a valid ticket will also be considered.

A modern asphalt plant is about much more than the equipment it contains.

Every part of Edinburgh Asphalt has been designed to support efficient production, consistent quality and dependable customer service.

In this latest project update, Asphalt Production Manager Zander Calderwood takes us through the new plant at Soutra Mains Quarry, explaining how each stage of the production process contributes to reliable asphalt supply, from the cold feed bins and RAP system through to the mixer, hot storage and weighbridge.

Having helped develop three new asphalt plants during his career with Hillhouse Group, Zander shares the practical thinking behind the layout and operation of the facility, and why experience is just as important as investment.

Due to continued growth, Hillhouse Quarry Group is looking for a Quarry Materials Technician to join our Technical Operations Team based at Crossgates, supporting sites across the East of Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in technical operations, carrying out the sampling and testing of asphalt, aggregates, ready-mix concrete and concrete products to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.

We're looking for someone with strong organisational and IT skills, a professional approach, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers. A driving licence would be beneficial but is not essential.
