Vision VS Reality

This time last year we were working on this kitchen and adjoining utility room, and this year we’ve just started on the same lovely customer’s bathroom.

We worked on the design of this kitchen for the client and drew up visualisations for her, which we posted last year (actually only six posts back since we’ve not really been on top of the socials this year), but have never posted the finished space. So here are images of the vision vs the reality… pretty close!!

We worked with to supply and fit the kitchen. We advised on the flooring, worktop, paint colour and blinds.

The last job of the year starts this week so we’re starting to count down to a fresh new and exciting year.

Our website is currently offline as we’re working on a new look for the new year, so it will be live before Christmas.

The picture is of a downstairs cloakroom we worked on earlier this year. This family are one of our best clients; we’ve done loads of work for them over the years and next year we will be working on the next (and probably final) phase of their beautiful house project.

A Modern Classic Cloakroom fit for family life

THE BRIEF
To turn a tired utility room space into a stylish, multifunctional cloakroom and utility with plenty of storage.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The clients wanted a more functional space, with more storage and in better keeping with their period barn conversion. The existing room lacked colour and identity, whilst the clients were bursting with it, so it needed a re-think!

THE PROPOSAL
The clients had had a plan drawn up by an interior designer and had already selected tiles, glass hanging lights, a copper sink and black tap ware and accessories. The washing machine and tumble dryer have been stacked in a utility cupboard which creates space to add the toilet and sink. We tweaked the plan to set the toilet back, rather than run the worktop flush all the way down the right hand wall, allowing more floor space in the room.

Originally we were only briefed to complete this side of the room, but once we got started the clients wanted us to complete the full room at the same time, so on the opposite side we boxed in the boiler, added cupboard space and some additional worktop space.

All the cupboards were bespoke built to fulfil the precise client specifications with custom doors ordered from .uk, and looked beautiful when they arrived and were installed. Doors are finished to match colour Pigeon from

Last but definitely not least, we laid a Victorian style black and white checkered tile floor, and they loved it so much that we also extended it into their hallway.

THE BRIEF
A family bathroom was to be updated to suit the clients two daughters, aged 7 and 12, as well as for use by guests. A key issue to be addressed was the lack of storage in the existing bathroom.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The clients disliked the lack of space, lack of storage and the unattractive, dated decor. They wanted an appealing, functional space for getting ready in, that was easy to clean and had some personal touches and colour pops. We worked closely with the clients on this project to provide a full design and supply service. They provided us with an inspiration image of a dark grey bathroom suite with white metro tiles and dark grey wall paint and asked us to help them achieve a similar look to fulfil their complete brief.

THE PROPOSAL
More space could be created by removing bulky boxings and removing the separate shower and installing a shower over the bath. The layout of the room could then be reconfigured to allow for a run of fitted units with plenty of storage. The size of the existing bath should be maintained.

To keep the room feeling spacious we selected a paler grey suite and used narrow white tiles in a vertical pattern to modernise the look. We also opted for black tap ware for a clean, sharp contrast.

We suggested using double sinks, one for each of the girls to give them a sense of personal space, which the client loved. Bright pink pops of colour in the accessories and pictures add a touch of fun and personality.
