We are incredibly proud to announce that our Finance Director, Neil Robinson, has become a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Builders’ Merchants. With just 263 members, and membership strictly by invitation in recognition of an individual’s professional contribution to the trade, this is a truly significant honour.
The Foundation represents professionals across the building materials and construction supply sectors. Founded over 50 years ago, it became a full Livery Company in 1977 and received its Royal Charter in 2012. Today, it supports industry education and training, charitable fundraising, and promotes the important contribution of builders’ merchants to the UK economy.
Neil said: “What a great privilege to have this honour. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my 33 years in the industry, especially my long-suffering wife, Andrea and the team here at Inter-Line.
I’ve tried to make the most of the many opportunities that have presented themselves, and I’m truly grateful to have met so many fantastic people along the way — many of whom have become personal friends.
Who would have thought that a quiet boy from the depths of Devon, who lacked confidence and didn’t have a university degree, would one day be bestowed with such an honour?
It’s a reminder of what makes our industry so special. It has given someone with my background the opportunity to build a career, develop relationships, improve our business and, ultimately, receive an honour I never could have imagined when I started out 33 years ago. Thanks to everyone who has been part of the journey. Here’s to the next chapter!”
