What happens when complex data meets practical engineering judgement?
This latest case study shows how Jee is helping operators turn large, challenging inspection datasets into clear, confident decisions.

Working in partnership with Irth Solutions, we combine advanced run comparison tools with hands-on engineering review to deliver reliable remnant life assessments. The result is faster processing, stronger validation and, most importantly, outcomes clients can trust.
From thousands of corrosion defects across multiple inspections to difficult pipeline alignment challenges, our approach gives operators clarity on risk, repair priorities and how to maintain safe operating windows.

What stands out in both projects is the balance:
• digital tools where they add efficiency
• engineering insight where it matters most
It is this combination that allows clients to plan targeted interventions, optimise inspection strategies and stay in control of ageing assets.
A great example of how collaboration between engineering expertise and digital capability delivers real value.

Jee’s Head of Decommissioning, Richard Stark, attended this year’s Decom Mission event as part of Decom Week 2026, joining industry leaders for an important set of conversations on where decommissioning is today and where it is heading next.

With activity across the UK Continental Shelf increasing and supply chain capacity tightening, the agenda focused on the practical realities of delivery, bringing together operators, the supply chain and regulators to explore how projects can be executed more effectively.

One of the standout sessions was the panel on Future Trends and Bridging the Gap, chaired by Neil Gordon, CEO of Global Underwater Hub. The discussion brought together valuable perspectives from across the industry, with contributions from Caroline Lawford, Jinda Nelson, Stuart Cameron and Sandy Fettes.
The panel explored key themes including policy impact, evolving project demands and the need to align capability with the pace of decommissioning activity. These are challenges that resonate strongly across the sector, particularly as projects become more complex and timelines tighten.

If you were there, it would be great to hear your key takeaways.

What are the biggest opportunities and challenges shaping the energy sector over the next 25 years?

The Jee team had some great conversations around exactly that. We connected with customers and partners, explored emerging solutions, and gained fresh insights from industry leaders including Alan Muirhead from Ithaca, Chris Smith from Perenco, Bart Smits from Petrogas, Enrique Cornejo from OEUK, Michael Shanks MP, and many other experts.

Congratulations to Paul Head from ODE for winning our raffle prize, and thank you to EEGR for hosting a great event.

We hope to see you all again soon.

May has been a month of contrasts, both in the weather and in the work we’ve been delivering. Tight timelines, complex conditions and challenges that will feel very familiar to anyone working in subsea engineering.

In our latest News Bulletin, we share a snapshot of the work keeping our teams busy, including:
• MBES led freespan risk assessments supporting rapid offshore decisions
• Emergency preparedness planning for critical assets
• Thermal design verification under demanding conditions
• Connector performance under extreme loads
• A practical approach to environmentally sensitive decommissioning

It is a reflection of the real challenges our clients face and how our engineers respond with clear, practical solutions.

How do you inspect subsea pipelines when flow rates are too low for conventional pigging?

In a paper written with Serica Energy and NDT Global shows how ultra low velocity pigging and subsea activation focus inspection on the sections that matter and deliver dependable integrity data as production declines.
