Mini One, Cooper , Cooper S, JCW GP1 R50 R53 2001 to 2006 , R52 Convertible One , Cooper , Cooper S airbag delete and positive battery terminal repair kits , I sell a range of airbag delete resistors to do the following

Front seat delete resistors for bucket seat fitment fitted on to a plug for instant fitting to car original plugs under the seats, these can also be used for diagnostic purposes to eliminate airbag faults.

These are £15 each although play and play if no airbag light is on, but if the airbag light is on, your will need to clear the fault code with a diagnostics reader or reset tool.

I also sell resistors for fitting into the steering wheel to replace steering airbag and also replace the passenger airbag for race cars, plugging these in fool ECU into thinking there still installed therefore no airbag light.

I also sell loose resistor with wire ends and heat shrink sleeves for fitting to any of the above airbags but these are suited to be fitted redirectly into the wiring loom with solder in connections, these will also fit on the the 2 black wires the sense the positive battery terminal.

The positive terminal has a small charge in it to disconnect the battery in a accident but they fail internally with age, bringing on the airbag light, your options to fix this are to replace the whole 7 foot long battery cable or fit a resistor to fool airbag ECU that terminal is OK. This will not fix a deployed positive battery terminal only replacement with fix it.

All the above is sold assuming that the cars these are fitted to are for off road purposes ONLY and they will be fitted by fully qualified auto electrician that has airbag experience.

Please note fitting these resistors to a car where any of the airbags have deployed will not fix the the airbag light being on as the airbag ECU will of recorded the crash data on it memory and can only be cleared by a professional high tech ECU specialist.

Please note these are all fused with a 2 amp fuse that instantly blow in the event of a accident shutting the circuit down

So seat plug resistors are £15 each and will fit the seat and or seat belt stalk loom plugs to replace those items ( ideal for bucket seat fitment)

Steering wheel / battery terminal / dash airbag resistors with heat shrink tubes are £5 each

Seat / seat belt resistors with pins only £7 each cheaper that the ones with plugs but need securing in position.

Tip of the week

So the R52 r57 convertibles have a few places to leak into car, first job is to adjust door window glass up higher in door frame, due the window being controlled by a bowden cables in the window mechanism meaning that over time the cables stretch allowing the window to drop slightly see link below , next the widow seals on the tops of the doors have felt sealing face that wears away allowing water off the glass into the door, which can get in to the car via the door speaker holes , I sell re-felted window trims on a exchange basis or available from Mini at about £50 each, also the door seals have drain channels inside that could be blocked also the canvas soft top if not water proofed recently can allow water to sweat through the fabric allowing internal mold on the inside of the roof

Make your own Cobra Spring Hose Clip Clamp fitting tool for £5 , how get a set of cheap Carpenters Pincer Nail Puller pliers , then use angle or bench grinder to flatten the face and blunt the cutting edge and you have made a tool the same as I use all the time in the workshop for refitting bypass hose and air filter clips in seconds.

Stop this happening with my unbreakable wire dip stick. If you dip stick breaks off in the tube or the sump, you will need to drop the sump the retrieve the broken bits, Only £10 collected or plus £4 UK postage

Tip of the day, for refitting the airbox and bypass valve pipe clips i use a tool like this, no need for a specialist tool, the flatter the face the better , I sometimes grind the face completely flat to make it better to use

Tip of the day.

When you refit your sills, aero or standard remember the small clips on the back of the sill are NOT the same as the front wheel arch ones, due to the fact that metal sill section there is double skinned and the front bonnet is only single skinned so clips are different you want MINI Clip Sill 07137073915
