Happy Easter everyone

It’s that time of year where the machines start coming out of hibernation . . .

If your mower won’t start, your strimmer sounds like it’s had one too many Easter eggs, or anything just isn’t running like it should, now’s a good time to get it sorted before things really kick off.

Repairs, servicing, and getting everything running properly again - that’s what I’m here for.

A little update from me.

My hand is healing well after last week’s mishap and the stitches are doing their job, so I’m slowly getting back to normal again.

With the weather suddenly turning a bit sunnier, I know a lot of people will be starting to get their saws, strimmers and other kit out ready for the season, so you’re very welcome to start bringing things in again if they need servicing or repairing.

There may still be the odd job that takes me a little longer while the hand finishes healing, but I’m very much back at it and happy to help where I can.

Thanks again to everyone who checked in after the accident - it was really appreciated.

Well yesterday didn’t quite go to plan.

I had a bit of a run-in with a chainsaw while cutting up some trees in the garden and ended up with a trip to A&E and a few stitches.

All sorted now, but I’ll be taking it a bit steady for a week or two while it heals.

It’s a good reminder that even when you work with machinery all the time, it only takes a second if something goes wrong. It also reminds you how important it is to keep equipment properly maintained and safe to use.

I should still be able to answer messages and book work in, but if I’m a little slower replying than usual that will be why.

Stay safe out there.

And before anyone says it… it’s probably just as well I’m better at fixing chainsaws than I am at using them.

Feels like the weather’s finally turning a bit milder 🌤

I know a lot of you will be thinking about getting back out with the mower, strimmer or chainsaw over the next few weeks.

If anything’s been sitting through the winter, now’s a good time to get it checked before the grass starts flying and the jobs pile up.

A quick service now is usually a lot easier (and cheaper) than a breakdown when you need it most.

I’m based here in Tomnavoulin / Glenlivet and offer servicing and repairs on most garden and forestry machinery.

Morning folks,

One thing I see a lot in the workshop at this time of year is machines that have been put away running fine… but won’t start when they’re needed again.

Most of the time it’s something simple like old fuel, a blocked carb, or a spark plug that’s seen better days — small things that are quick to sort if caught early, but frustrating when you just want to get on with the job.

If you’re planning to get the mower, chainsaw or strimmer back out soon, it’s well worth a quick check over before the busy spring season really gets going.

I’m based here in Tomnavoulin / Glenlivet and always happy to take a look or give honest advice on whether something’s worth fixing.

Hi everyone - hope you’re all doing well.

With the weather starting to settle a bit, I know a lot of you will be getting back out to catch up on jobs that have been waiting - whether that’s forestry work, firewood, or general clearing up after the wind and rain.

Just a quick reminder that if your chainsaw, strimmer or other machinery has been sitting for a while, it’s always worth giving it a check over before getting going again. A small issue now can quickly turn into a bigger problem - and more importantly, it helps keep things running safely.
