December 1943 Ford GPW Jeep Project GPW165616

After further research and uncovering some markings on the Jeep, we can now reveal that she had her engine replaced during her military service and that is the engine which is still in her now. This is detailed in the Australian Army ledgers. Her ARN is 146201 and she has clear markings on her windscreen frame including: Painted on Bridging plate, the words ARMY MAIL and then her unit details: 6 over 376 and Insignia of a rising sun over a boomerang.

She is an original 1943 Ford GPW which has clearly had an engine replacement in service. It has a very original and excellent condition body tub and a complete set of dataplates which do not correspond to the engine or chassis. Her data plates show GPW256573, her engine is a 1943 GPW engine GPW151794 and her frame is 1943 GPW chassis frame GPW165616. It is very complete and original and will make an excellent motor pool WW2 Jeep project. The body tub has its original floors and is very clean, requiring very little work. The chassis needs some attention as the front passenger frame horn has cracked and is bent as per the pictures. A straightforward repair. Original combat rims all around, original paint and markings throughout including on the windscreen frame showing its Australian army unit.

Will come with a NOVA reference for UK Age related Registration.
