After 49 years in business – including 20 as an authorised Merlo dealer – Mike Pullin is stepping down and retiring, with P&D Engineering set to close at the end of June.

Mike’s journey began in a modest shed on a local farm, repairing agricultural and horticultural machinery. Over the decades, he built P&D Engineering into a respected dealership, moving into purpose-built premises beside the M5 in Bredon, Worcestershire, nearly 40 years ago.

A new chapter now begins for the site, as Turney Group takes over the location and the Merlo franchise, ensuring the legacy of machinery sales and support continues.

To mark the milestone, Merlo UK General Manager Shaun Groom presented Mike with an engraved glass plaque, recognising 20 years of partnership. He commented:

“Mike and his team at P&D Engineering have been a loyal and dedicated Merlo dealer for two decades. On behalf of Merlo, I’d like to thank Mike for his partnership, support, and business.”

As some of you may already be aware P&D Engineering (Bredon) Ltd is due to close later this month. Our last day will be Monday 30th June. This comes as Mike Pullin, Owner and Managing Director retires after 49 Years in business! During this time the company has served a huge number of customers both from within the local community and further afield, our thanks go to each and every one.

We all wish Mike the best for his retirement.

Moving forward, an agreement has been reached with turneygroup to lease the site for a new depot. They will be opening on Tuesday 1st July and will be ready to continue supplying all agricultural essentials available in the shop including animal feeds, spare parts and sundries. They will be focusing on establishing their new territory for Grounds Care equipment as well as representing Merlo for the area.
Some of our staff will be continuing with Turneys and we hope it will mean little disruption to our regular customers who have relied upon us for their service and retail needs.
Please support them as you have us, over the years.

Over the next few weeks all machinery currently stocked will be reduced to clear at final discounts! Don’t miss this opportunity to grab a bargain at huge reductions!

We regret to inform all of our customers and followers that our company P&D Engineering (Bredon) Ltd will be closing down on Monday 30th June 2025 due to the retirement of Mike Pullin. We have stock to clear until then. As a consequence, we are able to offer a number of our remaining machinery stock at ridiculously low prices, some below our cost ! It is very much 'first come, first served' as stock is very limited and the prices offered are unrepeatable. Please remember to add vat to all of those prices. Today in the UK is VE Day , we remember the significance of Victory in Europe Day, marking the end of World War II in Europe.

On this day in 1945, the Allies formally accepted Germany's surrender, bringing an end to six years of devastating conflict. Across the UK, VE Day is commemorated with various events, including street parties, memorial services, and historical reenactments, all honouring the sacrifices made by those who fought for peace.
