Case Study: Right-Sizing a Compressed Air System

After concerns about rising energy costs, a customer asked Telford Compressed Air to assess their compressed air system.
We carried out a full data logging analysis, which revealed their existing 18.5kW compressor was significantly oversized for their actual air demand. As a result, it was running inefficiently and costing far more in energy than necessary.
Based on the results, we replaced the old unit with a new HPC 7.5kW compressor, correctly sized to match their production requirements.

Looks can be deceiving!

Whilst these pictures suggest a brand new, turn-key installation project, the pictures show the result of years worth of partnership with the local HQ of an international company.

Starting with the introduction of a lonely HPC / KAESER ASD50 SFC, the system now features 2x ASD50 SFC compressors (configured on a duty-standby, alternate duty cycle), HPC / KAESER Refrigerant Dryer, Filtration and condensate management system.

The project included a heat recovery ducting system that further enhances their broader energy efficiency goals.

All of which is supported by a 5-Year, No-Quibble Warranty and comprehensive, fixed-price Preventative Maintenance Plan.

Phase 2 of an ongoing upgrade project with the customer objective being to increase capacity, reliability & energy efficiency.

This is the second HPC / KAESER CSD 130T package installation in it's finalising stages which will form part of the larger project to meet the customers goals.

This project has been, and continues to be particularly enjoyable as we have been working very closely with the customer to deliver their vision.

All of the localised packages feed-back to a SAM 4 master control which allows us to monitor and report on the performance of the compressed air equipment spanning the entire manufacturing facility.
