Before you write an aircraft off, speak to NAMAIR.

This is exactly what we do, recover aircraft from across the UK, transport them back to our facility, repair, rebuild and return them to the sky.

Accident damaged, dismantled, long-term grounded or simply uneconomical at somebody else’s prices, we’ll take a proper look at it.

Aircraft recovery and repair at some of the most competitive prices in the UK.

Two more on their way back to NAMAIR. ✈️

Recover. Repair. Rebuild. Fly.

Here’s another example of why repairing properly can make far more sense than simply replacing parts.

These two exhaust pipes had corroded to the point where the ends had failed.

Replacement cost: over £11,000
Lead time: around 13–16 weeks

Instead, we sent them to our CAA-approved specialist welding shop.
Turnaround: 2 days
Cost: less than £2,000
That’s potentially £9,000+ saved, and more importantly, the aircraft isn’t sitting on the ground for three or four months waiting for parts.

At NAMAIR, we don’t automatically reach for the parts catalogue. Where an approved, compliant repair is possible, we’ll find it.

Less downtime. Less cost. Aircraft back flying.

YOUR AIRCRAFT DOESN’T HAVE TO COME TO US, SOMETIMES, WE COME TO IT. ✈️🔧

This is a 1966 French-built Wassmer WA-41 Super Baladou IV, a genuinely rare aeroplane and certainly not something you see every day.

Its owner had been battling problems for several years and, eventually, the aircraft was effectively stuck at its home base.

So rather than tell the owner to somehow get the aircraft to us, NAMAIR deployed engineers to the aircraft.

We travelled to site, surveyed it, helped move it into secure hangarage and began working through exactly what was required to return it to an airworthy condition.

And on an aircraft that has been sitting for some time, you never quite know what you’re going to find.

In this case, that included a squirrel having taken up residence in the wing. 🐿️✈️

Alongside that came the more serious engineering issues that now have to be worked through properly, methodically and safely.

But that is exactly the point.

A stranded aircraft is not necessarily a stranded owner.

If an aircraft cannot sensibly or legally be flown to a maintenance organisation, we are increasingly deploying engineers directly to the aircraft. We can inspect it, diagnose defects, carry out suitable line maintenance and rectification on site and, where possible, get the aircraft into a condition where it can safely be flown back to our main maintenance facility for the larger programme of work.

Rare aircraft.
Long-term projects.
Aircraft stuck away from maintenance.
Owners who have simply run out of options.

We’re happy to take the difficult jobs on.

The aim with this Wassmer is not simply to get it flying again. It is to get the owner back into a position where the aircraft can be properly maintained, supported and enjoyed year after year.

And judging by the owner’s reaction so far, he is delighted simply to see genuine progress being made.

Got an aircraft stuck somewhere and don’t know how you’re going to get it to maintenance? Talk to us. We may be able to bring the maintenance to you.

WHEN THE WEATHER DOES THE DAMAGE…

On a stormy day, an extreme gust snapped the strap on this aircraft’s cover.

The loose strap caught around the temperature probe and ripped it straight out of the windscreen.

The photos show the job from the initial damage, through removal and replacement of the screen, right through to the finished aircraft, repaired, painted and ready to go again.

It’s exactly the sort of job we take on at NAMAIR: damage assessed properly, repaired properly, and the aircraft returned to service looking as it should.

£10,000 FLAP… OR A PROPER REPAIR?

During an annual inspection we discovered significant corrosion around an old flap repair carried out many years ago.

The easy answer would have been to replace the flap.

A new one was approaching £10,000 — and, coming from the States, the flying school could have been waiting 12 weeks or more.

Instead, NAMAIR removed the defective repair, dealt properly with the corrosion and rebuilt the area correctly.

✅ Back flying in around two weeks
✅ Cost well under half the price of replacement
✅ Proper repair, properly finished
Sometimes good maintenance isn’t about replacing everything. It’s about having the experience to know what can be repaired safely, correctly and economically.

ONE HEAVY LANDING CAN LEAVE ITS MARK

A classic flat spot on an aircraft tyre — usually caused by the wheel locking under braking on landing.

It doesn’t take much to turn a perfectly serviceable tyre into one that needs attention.
At NAMAIR, it’s not just about servicing aircraft — it’s about spotting the signs, understanding what caused them, and keeping aircraft safe and serviceable.

This aircraft came in for its Annual and that’s exactly what it got.

When an aircraft is properly maintained year after year, the Annual shouldn’t be a huge surprise. Defects are dealt with as they arise, future work is planned, and the aircraft stays ahead of the maintenance.

The result? Safer, more predictable and often cheaper Annuals.

That’s what good maintenance is supposed to look like.

GROB 115 — SIMPLE, EFFICIENT, BUILT TO FLY

A look inside a remarkably low-time Grob 115 — modern for its era, efficient to operate and a cracking little aircraft.

Aircraft like this are exactly why we love light aviation. Keep them maintained properly and there’s plenty of flying left in them.

At NAMAIR, we look after light aircraft from routine maintenance and annuals through to ARCs, repairs and bigger projects.

Your aircraft. Our job is to keep it flying.
