New data from TyreSafe & partners reveals critical safety gaps in commercial fleets

Roadside checks carried out by TyreSafe and industry partners at major UK motorway services uncovered a worrying divide between large, policy-led fleets and smaller operators - from low TPMS adoption (just 11%) to dangerous reliance on visual tyre checks alone.

With the Police Commercial Vehicle Operation now underway, this is a clear call for stronger systems, better policies and smarter tyre management across all fleets.

This trailer and generator became detached from its towing vehicle due to apparent defects, and has spread diesel down the carriageway , causing delays M6 southbound after junction 13.

Huge risk to everyone, damage to one other person’s vehicle and delays for many more. Fortunately no one was hurt.

Driver reported for offences, and highways managing the traffic.
