AFT Trenchers Ltd

AFT Trenchers Ltd Our trenchers operate 5-10 times faster than excavators, serving farmers, contractors, landscapers, and sports turf managers.

Whatever your trenching needs are, we've got you covered. We've been in the business for 50 years. AFT Trenchers Ltd has been making specialist trenching equipment for nearly forty years. In 2003 AFT Trenchers Ltd moved to new premises and already three years later these had to be extended to keep up with the ever increasing demand for our trenchers and other drainage machinery. Throughout its exi

stence, AFT has built an excellent reputation for the quality of its machines, the quick and reliable supply of spares and unequalled service to its many customers.

When trenching, spoils naturally fall to the bottom of the trench.

If you don't clear them out, you alter the gradient of your trench and the effectiveness of your drainage.

The crumber keeps the spoils fed into the chain. They are then evacuated from the trench by the auger or conveyor

See how the crumber works⬇️

A case for using attachment trenchers in your next civil job.

1/ Do in 1 day what would take 3 or 5 days with a digging bucket.

2/ Dig in asphalt, concrete, aggregate. Pull out or grind stones the size of footballs.

3/ Dig a trench for: water pipes, CCTV, fibre optic, drainage, irrigation. You name it.

4/ Payback can be on your first couple of projects.

If you already own a tractor or an excavator, you already have a prime mover, so just get an attachment trencher.

A good reminder of what wheel trenchers can dig through.

This buried steel plate didn’t stand a chance against the Wizz Wheel 75.

Our trenchers drain Premier League pitches and Olympic venues πŸ…

But we're just as proud to see our AFT45 working at local football & rugby clubs, like here at St Teath Football Club in Cornwall.

Local pitches flood too. Good drainage means fewer called-off matches for the kids and adults who play there.

Thanks to Will Kitto at KMD Developments for the work, and for keeping this pitch playable.

Quite mesmerising to see the 3D printer at work πŸ–¨οΈ

In this particular case, producing the AFT100’s trench cleaning crumber end (the component that keeps the bottom of the trench flat & clean).

Before we commit to pricey machining or fabrication, we can produce in a matter of hours prototype components to:

β€’ Check fit and assembly
β€’ Validate CAD concepts (3D modelling on computer)
β€’ Identify potential issues early
β€’ Test ergonomics and installation

All of this combined allows Roscoe & the team to deliver better-engineered trenchers to our customers.

Using a digger vs. a trencher to dig a trench. It all boils down to this picture.

πŸͺ π——π—œπ—šπ—šπ—˜π—₯

The spoils come out in large lumps, difficult to break down, making backfilling a pain in the neck.

πŸ”ͺ 𝗧π—₯π—˜π—‘π—–π—›π—˜π—₯

β€’ You get a clean trench.
β€’ The chain of the trencher finely cuts & breaks down the spoils.
β€’ The auger places the spoils to the side of the trench.
β€’ A simple blade on your tractor allows you to backfill in no time.

➑️ Eventually, the disturbance to the land is kept to a minimum.

Thanks to Simon Legard for the pictures and congratulations on the great work.

5 times faster than an excavator.
Narrower & Cleaner than using a digging bucket.
More powerful than compact walk behind machines.
Simpler & More cost-effective than a self-propelled trencher.
