Another enjoyable day of teaching, making on our beginners blacksmithing course. One of our attendees made a knife from his father’s old metal file. This turned out brilliantly with the patina in the finish (see first pic). We have a few spaces left for June 27th. Our course can be really nice to do with a friend or family member- there’s Father’s Day coming up! Booking link in bio. Likely to be our last date until September as it gets too hot to sweat it out with three forges at once burning in the workshop! 🔥

These are steel archway ‘portals’ we designed for the entrances to Elmore Court treehouses in Gloucestershire. They’ve really mellowed into the landscape since installation.

The gates on the Great Gate House, Hampton Court are over 500 years old. We forged a new davit strap from 9 individual pieces of wrought iron then made and installed 99 new rivets and roves.
