How grotty... 🫣😬

Rain hammering the roof… stove ticking away… kettle rarely getting chance to cool down 😌☔️🫖

Honestly though, after the dry dock madness yesterday, it feels a bit like the canals themselves are taking a long deep breath...

And blimey… what a gift this rain is...

Hopefully topping things up nicely so we don’t see the stoppages and shortages we had last year 🙏🤞

Today is to become one of those quiet “just be with the boats” sort of days aboard Narrowboats Bluebell & Stowaway 🤗

One thing me & Ma have been chatting about though is helping the our Bob spread his wings a bit now he’s nearly 16 (where’s that gone then? 😅)

After watching him handle Bluebell out the dry dock and into the lock yesterday with calm precision… I reckon he’s more than ready to get a taste of as many different paths in life as possible through some volunteering roles✌️

He’s showing a real interest in engines, old machinery, heritage stuff and historic boats lately... I’ve emailed the Severn Valley Railway already, and we were also wondering about places like the The Bonded Warehouse or the Glass Museum in Stourbridge too 🤔

So… any ideas, flower? 🙏

We’re mainly looking around the Kidderminster, Stourbridge and anywhere in-between sort of area that’s reachable by train or bus from the cut...

Would absolutely love to find him some volunteering opportunities, maybe aboard a historic narrowboat if such a thing exists around here ✊️
