I just wanted to say I’m so very grateful to all my customers who have been so understanding during this difficult time. You’ve been so patient, thank you for understanding just how traumatic experience this has being. I’m really hoping for some positive news when we see the surgeon/consultant on Friday 🙏🤞 I’ve been in an unbelievable amount of pain since the operation and the healing process has being slow! The infection is still present and there may still need to be a second op but Monday was a little more positive so just hoping that continues on Friday. Leslie has been doing a sterling job getting through a steady trickle of customers. Karen has being again this wk and I have Ruth coming in on Thursday. So we are trying to get through everyone. Thank you again for your patience

Sorry guys have been to Russell’s hall early this morning and I can’t face sorting admin right now, will get to sorting it out tomorrow. I have t cancelled appts yet in diary as it’s really difficult to write lists so by keeping the appts in diary I will know who needs sorting but that does mean you will get reminders for appts but unless you have had that appt confirmed by me personally then please ignore!!

This is a post I never thought I’d be writing unfortunately in the early hrs of yesterday morning two of my dogs struck up a huge fight whilst camping in a blackout pod!! Absolute chaos ensued resulting in me getting bit! In fact bit quite badly in that the whole top tip of my right ring finger was bitten off!! I have been in a&e, had X-rays and the end of the finger is fractured and bone exposed!! I will be needing a surgical wash out and maybe a further operation! The dogs I hasten to add are fine!!

I am obviously unable to groom any dogs at this time however i do have a friend who is newly qualified and has set up Poppet & Paws in the salon working alongside me. Thankfully she has not built a client base as yet and therefore is able to help me out however she will be slower and will be working with support as best I can from me. So I am asking that all non necessary grooms be postponed and for necessary grooms people to let me know if they are happy for Leslie at poppet and paws to groom your dog? Obviously this is a really difficult time, I’m processing and dealing with an incredibly traumatic event and I have no idea on the recovery period for such an injury but I do know it is currently extremely high risk of infection and as such I need to be very careful.

If you are booked in over the next few wks I will be getting in touch to clarify everyone’s needs but if you are happy and able to be cancelled for the moment comment below as that will relieve the pressure!

I will attach a less sensitive image of said finger but for anyone wanting the gruesome uncovered image just ask I’m happy the share but it is grim 🤦‍♀️🤢🤢😂

Photo dump of the few dogs I’ve taken pictures of lately. My books are full and as such I tend not to post much as it generates too many enquiries that I’m just not finding the time to respond to I’m so sorry!! The agility season is in full swing so I’m currently working shorter wks with longer days as am away most weekends! Please if you’ve asked for appts and I haven’t sent through then please chase me!!

With regards to the weather this wk I will take it day by day. I do have an aircon unit which is a godsend but even that couldn’t cope the other wk and I did have to cancel a few afternoon and evening dogs but will make that call through the day depending how the heat builds 🐾🥰🥵

Hey guys so I wanted to do a quick post re the weather this wk! I’m actually working today so wanted to explain what measures will be in place to keep everyone safe. Firstly I have an aircon unit which coped well last year to keep it bare-able, but I’m trying a silver reflective sheet on the flat roof for the first time which should reflect the rays and help keep it cooler in there too during the afternoon when the sun gets round that side of the house!! With regards to the grooms, I will pre clipping as much as possible to reduce the times under the dryers which would obviously be turned down to a cooler temp also, It may be that ears are still a little damp etc but we’ll see how it goes today and take it from there.
